Chocolate Filp?

I've seen display models at the mall and i think it's my next phone. Anyone know when/where I can get an unlocked one? and do you think they're good phones?

I'm assuming that you're talking about the VX8600, which is in the same glossy black as the slider version but with chrome trim? I have that phone and it's very good. Good battery time and clear reception.

Agreed on the 8600 comments. That's the phone I have and it's the best phone I've ever had.

Do NOT buy this phone, I have the chocolate slider and it's a POS. Call quality is great but everything else sucks. Battery is shit. touch screen is shit, and scratches like all hell. Get the Nokia 6300 and you won't look back.

My friend have the slider version. His first one is good, perfect, but then it got scratched so he replaced it with a second one and this one doesn't have good battery time at all.

My wife has the white version and her dad has the chocolate and battery life has been superb.

Like with most phone, it's a crap shoot when it comes to phone quality, but LG so far has impressed me far greater when compare with Sony Ericsson and Motorola and Samsung.

BTW, the only reason why my phone has a few scratches is because my new jeans some how had a few grain of sand in it and I left it in there. If it weren't for that, the phone would have been scratch free.

I've had every brand of phone and am tired of their shittyness, To each his own but from now on i'm sticking with nokia's exclusively. I've had 4 and everyone was GREAT. While in a low of their designs i thought i would try a different brand but have always been disapointed. I went back to my nokia 8390 from my chocolate because it was a POS and the 8390 is a solid phone. Monochrome display, no camera, but the battery lasts forever and the clairty is great. also the T9 dictionary is phenomenal. /end rant

I have the 8500 Chocolate and the only problems I've had are:

1) battery life, mainly when playing games.

2) soft keys. When talking your cheek can touch the softkeys causing it to access different menus. A real pain when using a menu driven service e.g. customer service, voicemail... where you need to enter numerics.

Signal strength has been very good and bluetooth w/ 3g TL is great.
