How many times did you call my dirty jersey ass and yell at me how shitty my service is? (Admittedly you could of been yelling at me for my Nextel just as much for my Sprint LOL). I sweat the Sprint phones no doubt but they're shit in central Jersey is ass. Northern NJ is OK since were near NYC and they matter most lol. I realized that the most important thing to me was call quality not features. Hell, my current phone is an LG VX3100. That if anything shows what kind of user I am. Fucking thing has like 3 ring tones and is black and white.

You can always go to the Sprint store, they have the same deals. Call first, cause these phones are "disappearing."

I am pretty sure BAM did.
or they used BAM's. They had decent service so that could have been it. BAM and ATT were the only good services back in the mid 90s in the Northeast.

do you come up with anything on your own?
i don't blame you, obviously you are outclassed in the particular forum, perhaps your time will be better spent in the home video forum.
okay, here's the deal since you didn't get it ... lube up ...
SMS is the way youre supposed to do text messaging. It works one way on CDMA, and a different way on GSM. Sprint tried (and failed) to integrate all their services into Vision. Now you are seeing one of those services being ripped out of Vision. Short mail sucked, we all know, but that what happens when you don't do things the way you are supposed to.
Now if you need me to explain to you how SMS works, just ask. There is a reason why it works so much better than Sprint's short mail. Here's some info for you to churn those gears over. SMS works faster on GSM because they use the paging channel instead of the traffic channel to deliver the message. Do you see how this is faster?

But they promise me overnight it'll be there, some SNAFU.

GSM has absolutely zero to do with any of this since neither Verizon or Sprint are GSM.

Well sprint hasn't really done anything. They are the third company out with PTT. let me explain to you my point about the analysts. each one has their own view. at first, everybody pointed at "latency" (which they totally mis-use the word), then some looked at "latency" more in depth, for call setup, and for intra-call. some look at voice quality, some look at handsets. some look at the BIG picture: which phone works in more places, most reliably ... more tradtional things like pricing, customer service.
for each of these, you have different "winners" so to speak.
what I'm saying, junior, is that picking one of these quotes, and running with it is pretty near-sighted.
EVERYBODY has SMS before Sprint, so they are dead last. It will still be some time before anybody can use it, they have 15 million people out there with phones that can't do SMS.
Video messaging is not streaming video ... i am pretty sure you aren't confused with that. They have one handset out with it know, there are more coming from more providers.
If you call sprint's & at&t's video "streaming" ... then verizon has it too. I think they all suck.
you are a product of marketing and somebody sending you free phones. if you stop getting up on that soapbox, i can stop knocking you back off it.

sprint and verizon are NOT offering anything like ATT's new video services via EDGE. they are the only company to announce full motion video streaming that i know of. if they aren't... then all your statements from that previous post are wrong... and youve proven me right. heh
second... you havent knocked me off anything... as ive yet to see any posts agree with you in these debates. yet theres been several agreeing with me.
third... so everyone else is wrong using "latency" as the term except you? so what is the correct term Sir Knows More than EVERYONE.
fourth... yes theres different winners in every category. i agree completely.
fifth... yes i know sending a freakin video file is not video streaming. lol
sixth... back to text messaging... yes sprint is dead last with SMS. thats what i said... thats what "they fixed it" implies, no? youve heard me complain countless times about Short Mail. but your correct... they fucked up by depreciating all their old handsets. never questioned that.

the above discussion is between me and Ken. if he wants to explain it to you, then you'll understand, otherwise, you'll still be confused tomorrow.
i'm sorry that it is the case that I do know more than everyone else on here regarding this topic, it isn't my fault, don't hate on me because of that. i'm not shy to ask questions about home theater, or large caliber firearms ... why do you have such an ego problem with this subject?

Here's my
I have Sprint. I spend most of my time in the NYC metro area or in CT close to a major interstate. I have no issues whatsoever with coverage in populated areas. If I stray into some less populated areas, my coverage goes to crap. My gf has Verizon. She gets better coverage in those areas, but where we spend 99% of our time, both services are about equal.
Overall Verizon has Sprint beat with coverage, but in populated areas it's more of a wash.
The one thing that would keep me from Verizon is their customer support. This is a story of what happened to my friend 2 days ago:
He had Autopay set up to pay his monthly Verizon payment. He paid off a lot of bills and he ran up a higher than usual phone bill. It turned out that his phone bill ran $10 more than what he had in his checking, so the Autopay was rejected.
Now, the date Verizon tried to pull the $$ was 5 days before the due date on his bill, yet Verizon promptly shut off his service. No warning, nothing. Just a dead phone. And get this.. He was a Verizon customer for over 2 years!!
He then calls customer service and gets a rude woman on the phone. She refuses to turn on the phone until he pays the balance due. He mentions that he still has 5 days to pay, but she refuses. They get into an argument and she then said something to the effect of "it's not my problem you can't make enough $$ to pay your bills".
In the end, due to the rude treatment, he was able to get out of his contract and is considering either AT&T or Sprint now.
I know this is only one story, but I've heard similar experiences. Sometimes when a company gets too big, they get cocky and their customer service/treament falls - not good for them in the long-run IMO
Verizon Wireless doesnt shut off your phone unless you dont pay for 3 months
Then they shut off outgoing
a week or so after that your shut off altoghether.....
Happens to me every 3 months or so....not because I cant afford the bill more because of laziness to go into a verizon store and pay it....and I dont like having it on autopay because ive had problems with that.....

It was a mess-up which he knew it was, but the major point that he had (and the point of my story) was the horrible treatment he got on the phone
Thank you cusdaddy.
Fotis just reiterated my points with his past posts. When he has absolutely no ground to stand on he gets out his stubborn ego-stick and says "well im the adult so naa naa naa naa naaaaaa naaaaaaaa" haha.
I could probably name everyone who `called` fotis and understood. Its probably the same handful that called me and `understood` lol
There is a select few on here who want to be everyones friend and will agree with whomever their face-to-face with.
Then theres the random people who ive never once spoken to on a personal level who have IM'd or PM'd me out of the blue to say how they to see how Fotis does not know even the very basics of how stuff works.
Fotis reads headlines and bold print in press releases and white papers. Whenever it comes down to the basic details he either tosses out an irrelevent buzzword or turns it into a personal attack.

In the end, due to the rude treatment, he was able to get out of his contract and is considering either AT&T or Sprint now.

honestly, whats with all the debate? no need to break a sweat over it, to each their own... verizon is the best all-around carrier out there... the consumers know it and the vzw corporate people know it... comparing numbers post-lnp kickoff with various co-workers in diff departments in diff parts of the country only proves where we stand. anyway... off my soapbox... this debate means nothing to me. i'm not in marketing (not so much), so i dont need to prove my point of view outside of my job.... the quarterly numbers mean everything....
