Question Can I use my Palm Treo (700p) for internet on my laptop?

We had internet access at the store through one of the other tenents, but they apparently shut down their router 2 weeks ago and so far, have not brought it back up.

So I need internet access at the store, but I do not want a broadband card. I have the Treo 700p through Sprint with unlimited data. Isn't there a way to connect my laptop to it so I can get email via my laptop?

Any help is appreciated

Yes, it's possible, but from what I understand, it's illegal.

It's called ''teathering'' and most providers do not allow it from what I have read.

Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong....

It's not illegal, it's easy, but if your provider notices the large data transfers all of a sudden, they can and will bump up your plan, which means more $$

I have PDANet for my VZW 700p and it works either bluetooth or USB Cable to your laptop. It works better with the USB cable. I think you can demo it too. Here's the website:

^^^^ I've have it with my 700w, and it works pretty good... I tested it out and downloaded songs, and it was quite impressive... as for anything more than music... but I have to admit... I don't use it much anymore... I don't really have the need for it, I have wifi both at home and at work... and the only place that I'd use it is at Starbucks around the corner... but there's a "dead spot" TH

I have unlimited data... plus, I wouldn't be using it a lot.. .mainly to check email a few times a day. It's much easier (and quicker) for me to respond typing on a laptop then the Palm.
