It would keep me from having to tote around the bulky 5mp camera I have now. Plus I could take decent quality pics quickly. where as right now, I dont bother taking pics with my shitty phone camera cause the quality is so bad.

Do camera phones actually take decently sharp pictures at their current resolution? How does a 1 MP camera phone picture compare to say, an old 1 MP digicam?

If it's not reasonably comparable, I really wonder how those pictures are going to look when you enlarge them by a factor of 5 (which is basically all a 5MP sensor is going to give you).

I've always considered tiny lens + no/tiny flash = totally hopeless camera. but it'd be nice to be proven wrong. I had one of those thin cameras that you could slide in your wallet. But the quality was so poor I gave up on it.

 

let's hope it takes less than 3 years to get to the US market
