Also 3rd party exclusive games are going by the wayside cause games are getting so expensive to make it just doesn't make financial sense for a 3rd party to limit a game to just one console. So your choice in consoles are now based more on price, features and 1st party games exclusives. I you love Mario, Zelda and Metroid than get a Wii if you gotta have Halo or Forza then get an Xbox if you cream your pants at the thought of Gran Turismo like I do then get a PS3. But with MS they'll eventually release their exclusive console games on the PC so if you can wait then pick it up then. I'd like to get Gears of War for the PC especially since it's supposed to be an improvement over the console version.

 

yeah they're saying MGS4 will be one of the last 3rd party exclusives.

 

It's not the most expensive when you compare apples to apples though (wireless, Next Gen movie playing, etc)


The WII is not in the same category as the PS3 or 360.

Oh for the money when the PS3 launched it was the deal of a lifetime that cell processor is so ridiculously powerful plus blu ray the ability to run linux on it, wireless/bluetooth, and memory card reader it can be a bad ass PC for $600. Don't forget the hard drive is user replacable so you can throw a 200gb in there if you want and it won't void your warranty.

It still don't get why people get upset over spending $400 for a complete gaming system and yet will accept paying $400 for just the graphics card in a PC?

 

And if you have the cash for the TV anyways because you want to buy a TV obviously... then You get the Sony card... get approved... get the TV you wanted with the Card... then pay the card with the money you had for the TV... which results in a free PS3 and you not in debt... You'll end up with a new CC that you don't need (I suggest not to use) while increasing your credit score...

If you can get approved and have the money to pay for the TV... i say its a great deal... so with the Stunna...

I don't have the cash though... nor the credit score...

Yeah, there's no equivalent to Halo but there are certainly some very nice games out for the PS3.

 

FYI -- Best Buy is having a sale. Buy 3 HD DVDs and get two free.

 

Halo is the only 360 exclusive game that interests me. That said, most people i've talked to that own it were really disappointed and have already moved on to something else. I did have fun playing it though

 

<----- didn't cared for Halo 3, probably cuz I never got into the first 2, it's like trying to watch the movie that's a sequel to 2 other movies, and not having any interest in the series to begin with.

 

But what about PS3 exclusives, almost every good game on the PS3 is also available on the 360.

 

Resistance: Fall of Man and Heavenly Sword are good. But, obviously, the big ones (GT5 and Metal Gear Solid 4) are yet to come.

I think the CC deal is limited, but I'm not 100% sure. I know the BB deal includes all HD DVDs priced $34.99 or less.

 

CC is selected has 14 titles in ad, ads says in store only and same receipt

edit, BB looks to be doing selected titles as well when I look at their website

 

same for 360, Reality is, there is really no reason to have BOTH. If you are buying your only system it's a toss up. I had the 360, loved it, no bad things to say. But when it came to buying a system again, the PS3 was it for me.


Big things will happen w/ the PS3 in '08. I dealt w/ the 360 the first year it was out w/ limited games, didn't bother me then, like the PS3 doesn't bother me know. I have more then enough games to keep me occupied.


There is the argument that games look much better on the 360, but w/ more and more developers using the PS3 to now develop games that will be different.


I have a cousin that works for EA and he has hated the PS3 since it came out, but said now that they are understanding it some great things are going to happen.

 

^^ I too am starting to think PS3 will get a lot better for this next year. I've decided to try to get a new 40+" TV and a PS3 for my apartment sometime next year.

 

I just got back from BB. The flyer says ANY HD DVD movie as long as the free ones are $34.99 or less, so basically you can't get box sets for free.

Meh, the Blu-Ray BOGO is ok, nothing super wonderful.

I did get the first 4 Harry Potter movies for $40 bucks. Thats pretty good deal. And I got the 5th one when it came out. All in all thats a lot cheaper then the new box set.

Yeah, although I was eyeing Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Cast Away (Amazon has since run out of stock on those two), but I'm trying to restrict purchases to movies I don't have on DVD already. I did get Children of Men and Hot Fuzz on HD DVD.
