Bluetooth

If I pair my headset up with my phone, is my phone still in "discover" mode?

The reason I ask is this:

depends on your phone. if you are actually in the middle of a conversation on your headset, your phone should not be discoverable. But you never know.

It's to my understanding that once a bluetooth device is connected/paired with another bluetooth device then both are locked to each other. The only way someone can connect to your phone is if you have the bluetooth on and there is nothing connected to it. So in other words if the bluetooth on your phone is on, and you have your headset off, then yes your phone is vulnerable. But once you turn on the headset both are locked to each other and nothing else can connect to them. I hope that makes sense!

You might also want to look up "Bluejacking". It's really fun to do especially when you go somewhere public like a theater.

Yep that's the way it is supposed to work. It's just sad that every phone doesn't conform to the spec 100%.
