BlackBerry Curve
I'm about to switch my PDA as my contract is almost coming to an end and I could get a brand new Curve for free, as I still refuse to fall in the iPhone craze. Does anyone have one or any opinions. I've read a few reviews but they seem divided.
Thanks
Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, the BB Curve and iPhone are going to be updated with 3G technology sometime this year.

while i hate the "craze" too, it's definitely a sweet phone and now that it will have 3G and ActiveSync i'll be all over it.

I had the curve for some time and really liked it. I have since moved to the 8820 which has wifi capabilities and a slightly larger keypad.
I also read somewhere on Engadget that RIM is making a touchscreen BB.

I carry a curve. It is a capable phone. Contact management isnt as good as other pda's. The mail and calendar sync capabilities are about the best out there if you sync with BES. Battery life is good, but could be better - that is a sacrifice you pay for light weight..

I have a Curve (8320). The 8320 is the one with WiFi (same with 8820). I prefer the 8820 for looks, but the 8820 does not come with a camera while the 8320 does. The BB9000 series is due to be out later this year and have 3G support, but it'll be expensive. There are rumors there will be a non-3G 9000 for cheaper. I actually traded in my 8100 pearl for the 8320, and somewhat miss my 8100 except for the wi-fi. I actually "fingered" faster on my pearl because the keys were slightly bigger (shared 2 letters per button) and the predictive software was pretty good.
I was tempted to get an iphone at first, but after the craze has passed, I don't think it's that hot. If my phone was going to be primarily for music and web surfing, then yeah, but otherwise, no.
But if you get the 8320, these are the MUST HAVE accessories:
Seidio clip - Puts phone to sleep while in the clip. Phone can be unclipped/clipped with 1 hand.
Bestskinsever - Covers pretty much every part except for the rubberized trim along the edges, keypad/trackball, and camera and speaker openings.

Had the curve. Loved it, wonderful for email just like any other blackberry, also the size was very comfortable. However, i jumped on the iPhone bandwagon.
Don't you have the n95?

Ok, now get a couple sets of bestskinsever for it. Follow the instructions to put it on correctly (with water/soap mix). I think if you buy 3 sets, free shipping/handling which is BS anyway since it comes in a regular business envelope.
Get a clip or case for it, but the best ones will have a magnet in it to put the phone to sleep while in the case. It'll still notify you of calls and messages, but the screen will be off and the keys will be locked while "asleep".
DON'T install OS 4.5 (which is still beta). I did because I live on the bleeding edge, and I am bleeding memory (goes from ~ 20M to 600k in a day for no reason) and battery power (used to go 2-3 days before even needing to contemplate charging, now less than 12 hrs and it turns off the antenna because juice is so low).

The phone is too big to be put into a pants pocket. the largest phone that will fit into a pocket comfortably, IMO, is the RAZR. anything larger/thicker than that just does not work in a pocket.

The battery life sucks. I picked up a 2GB Media Card and I'm wondering if it's worth it since the battery life is average. Any personal experience? Is it worth to add music/movies or anything like that?

I keep bluetooth always on, but turn off wi-fi when i'm not using it. I last at least 48hrs before i'm down to 20% without too much talk-time. But I also have a case/clip that puts it to sleep and it's in the case 80% of the time. I think that's decent considering these aren't run-of-the-mill cell phones.

Got a Curve last week and just bought a 2GB card for $10.
I like the GPS but wish that the model that AT&T sells had wifi. Not bad at all for a $100 device.
I get a few days on the battery but I don't talk on it much.

He probably meant that the 2GB was the largest you could get for your 8330 [in his store], but be thankful of that...considering he OWN3D you for a 2GB card, imagine how RAP3D you'd be if he sold you a 4GB card. I can see what he'd say now..."This card JUST CAME out..state of the art! We're the first and only store to carry it. It'll be $100 please!"
My rule of thumb is to never buy anything from a brick-n-mortar shop until after I do my research and/or you have no choice.

I could see that there would be a problem if I wore jeans everyday.

Does anyone know or tired to listen to internet radio. Like with my HTC s720 I can go onto websites and listen to there live stream with windows media player but not sure if you can do this with the curve cause I really want it but if I can't do this then I will re think.

The Curve is nice as the keys are separated so it's easier to type, and it has a nice cam.
I have the Blackberry 8820, and I love the phone; it works great with the HFL.
If I had to choose now, I would go with the Tilt as it is much much more customizable than curve or my 8820, plus it has 3G, WIFI, GPS and CAM, all in one....

I just got my Curve Thursday, and like others have said battery life truly does suck on this phone. I left the house Friday morning with a 100% charge and by 7pm I had 5% charge left. I don't know whether or not I'll keep this phone, I really want to Samsung i760 but can't afford it at the moment.

As weird as it sounds, I find that the battery life improves. Like its needs a break-in of some sort. I use it to listen music when I'm walking which is a good 45-60 min per day. It's fine, although the first bar dissapears quick.
