Best place to buy AT&T phones with no commitment

I am looking to buy a new AT&T phone with no commitment or extension of the contract. I realize this would be the most expensive way of buying a new phone, but that's just the way it is now.

I did a search on eBay with a dizzying amount of results that all require contracts. AT&T's official page, of course, has an array of phones. But these are retail prices. I was wondering if there was a reputable discount vendor that sells phones for cheap.

Help!

youre going to pay top dollar for a new phone with no contract, I recently destroyed my LG VU in a fit of rage, so I needed to buy a new one but wasnt eligable for an upgrade

I bought a a blackberry curve 8310 on ebay from a guy that was selling something like 40 of them for his boss, 2 days use on them for $169 each with free shipping. I dont know it they were referbs or not, but for that price its all good.

Do you already have an existing contract?
If so, one option is just buying a pre-paid phone that uses the AT&T network and switching its SIM card with that in your existing phone.
Otherwise, you can also buy an unlocked phone from vendors with real stores who advertise on Craig's List.

Really depends on what you are looking for featurewise. Will Y. covered lower end phones that can be obtained.

At the other end; I today sold my 3g iPhone for $325 which was more than I paid for it last year new. I used Craigslist and listed it Saturdau PM. I met the buyer at a Starbucks and let him check it out to his content. Probably had 20 calls in about 20 hours.

He got almost what you may be looking for. I bought a higher capacity iPhone 3gs with twice the storage for the same price. Of course I also have a new 2 year contract.

All of your options are mostly covered in these two post, good luck.
