BEFSR41 Linksys Router + June 4th Firmware = Bad
BEFSR41 Linksys Router + June 4th Firmware = Bad
Anyone else having problems lately with their Linksys BEFSR41 4-port router (v1 and v2.x)? Like your DHCP not auto-renewing and having to do it manually? Like only getting 1-hour DHCP leases?
I bet you upgraded your firmware with the update that Linksys released on June 4th.
I've been having these problems lately, a good month, of my DHCP lease only being 1 hour, and then not auto-renewing. At first I thought it was Comcast screwing with the network (hence the 1 hour lease), but it persisted. Finally it hit me that these problems started when I upgraded my firmware.
So I go to the Linksys website to possibly find a previous firmware version, and what do I find? A June 24 firmware update. Documentation details only contained one line: " Fixed DHCP renewal."
Bastards.
Posted just in case anyone else has been pulling their hair out over this.
