My Voyager is on its last legs. It fell out of my pocket when I was jogging last night. The charger does not stay in the jack, the plastic on the hinge is cracked. Put a fork in it, the phone is done.

My friend has a two week old Storm that he absolutely hates. He told me he'd let me have it for $100. I played with it this morning and seem to have gotten use to some features and the clickable touch screen. I did some research on crackberrydotcom and noticed it was a lot of mixed reactions.

I'll be using the phone for simple things, email, texting (quite a bit), facebook, and probably AZ now that I'll have a decent browser. So is this phone a good buy for what I would need in a phone or should I look at other VZW offerings? I really liked the Voyager, but I found myself traveling out of the country a few times and noticed the need to have some type of cell support.

In May I heard the new Curve 8900 is coming and a "Storm 2" is on the horizon after summer. I wish I could wait but I need a phone within the next couple of days.

$100? What ya got to lose? Its definitely worth it. If you don't like it you can always sell it on ebay for more $

That's a good deal, but remember you'll need to pay an extra $30/mo for BIS (data). And Not your problem but your friend will still be on the hook for his contract which includes the $30/mo for BIS.

You can always buy it, and if you don't like it re-sell it for a lot more than $100..

 

Ahhh I just got another Voyager for free with my insurance. I'll wait, I don't plan on leaving the country any earlier than October.
