Bare with me.. Now, how do I transfer from laptop to laptop..
1st off, thanks to Stunna for offering help and Bdog (freemake worked).
I managed to copy 1 hr of my 8 hr video to my laptop that does have a drive. Is there a way to use a USB to transfer from laptop to notebook.
I am trying to avoid buying an external drive as I would not be using it much.
Thanks guys.

Connect both to your router with an ethernet cable.
Then follows these
http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/w...t/winxpsfs.htm
http://compnetworking.about.com/od/w...winxpfiles.htm
http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/w...dwinshares.htm
This way you can just share files from one computer to the next over the network.

I'm assuming laptops and router = wifi. Why not just skip the cables, follow the guides for transferring machine-to-machine, start them transferring over wifi and then hit the hay? Wake up in the AM to a completed copy.

I was hoping he had a router with 2 open ports and 2 ethernet cables to hook them up. Would be much faster than wifi would be.

So I thought you would need a crossover ethernet cable, but per wiki, it looks like you might be able to simply connect 2 laptops with a standard ethernet cable as most modern nic cards have automatic MDI/MDI-X configuration.
