:HELP: Antivira AV virus is killing me!!!

Man, I totally fucked up my gf's comp. I was trying to catch Miami vs Pistons game last night on live stream and caught this virus. I tried every fucking possible way to get this virus off but no good so far.

Here is a link to way to fix this issue but no luck...

http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/20...uninstall.html

This is pissing me off... what do I have to do?

I can't use Iexplore, can't get to clt +alt+del, and computer is slow as shit.. What annoys me the most is the pop up.

Yes, I did call paypal about this issue and no solid answer...

Go to another computer with and download Malwarebytes anti-malware and also a program called COMBOFIX. Put it on a flash drive. Now go to the infected computer and start it in SAFE MODE WITHOUT NETWORKING!

Install malwarebytes and let it do it's thing. Then once it's done use combofix and your virus should be gone!

Lookin at the computer I fixed there's also a startup you want to remove that will save you some hassle. In safe mode: Start --> Run(if you have XP) or just type in "Search" --> msconfig --> "Startup" tab --> uncheck "qfdbwdks".exe

And once you return out of safe mode and running malwarebytes be sure to do this:

2. Launch Internet Explorer. In Internet Explorer go to: Tools->Internet Options->Connections tab. Click Lan Settings button and uncheck the checkbox labeled Use a proxy server for your LAN. Click OK.

C'mon Jonesi... I might not be a computer nerd but I know how to get to safe mode.

I hope so... other wise, I'm going re-install everything to get this dirty bug off the comp.

Thanks!

Just rerun Malwarebytes in normal mode afterward just in case. But Malwarebytes got everything off the computer I fixed yesterday so you should be fine.

What a coincidence, a friend's computer was infected a couple days ago with something. He asked me to help, so I ran Malwarebytes (good stuff) in safe mode. To my surprise, the virus was still there upon start-up in normal mode. Went back to safe mode and installed a trial version of Kaspersky (also good stuff). This did the trick.

get a program called "combofix" put it on a usb stick.
learn how to get into "safe mode with networking"
you press F8 when the computers starting up
once in safe mode with networking, run the combo fix program
It will download a component needed to work - most likely you do not have recovery console installed and sometimes need for it to work.
Also install malwarebytes antimalware.

Yeah I've dealt with Antivira AV too. I removed it manually. It's just a startup entry. I'm not sure if it's in msconfig or not because I used Autoruns and show way more start up entries than msconfig but yeah once I unchecked the box it was gone.

What website did you visit to watch the game just so we know which one to avoid (though you hsould probably avoid them all)

Don't forget to disable System Restore.

And download and run Kaspersky's Virus Removal Tool --> http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/AVPTool/

Microsoft Security Essentials (update and scan 1x a week)
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (update and scan 1x a week)

Both are free and you should try to do the scans when the computer isn't being used. I like to do the scan before I head off somewhere or while I'm watching TV. Come back and deal with whatever pop's up later on! Be sure to run only 1 at a time. Running both at once slows both down and it takes 3x as long.

That's a little much. MSE is already set to update daily and run scans weekly so no need to do a manual scan. And I never bother with malwarebytes mainly because I never get infected. The only time I run MB is when I'm bored.

If someone gets infected so often that they have to run MB weekly then maybe they should change their Internet habits....

Also MSE still runs when MB runs in fact I often run MB after installing MSE because sometimes MSE finds shit while MB is scanning that MB doesn't find. To clarify I don't run a quick scan on MSE while doing a scan on MB because MSE Monitors file and program activity so it scans what MB scans.

I rather suggest something that's a bit "overkill" since we really don't know the person's habits of surfing the web. IMO not all programs pick everything up and there is no such thing as 1 comprehensive program. I rather use 2 or 3 and be safe then sorry when someone is selling my credit card info or using it.

We obviously know he's an avid porn site visitor so once a week is probably the minimum.

what you have to do is "Ctrl+Alt+Del" BEFORE the virus program loads (you have to do this quickly), then terminate the program RIGHT AS IS LOADS on the "Ctrl+Alt+Del" screen, or it will kick you out. Once you zap it, you will be allowed to open "Windows Defender", then just find the infected program and delete it.

I have a few experiences with this, becasue when I would look at pr0n all the time they would infect my pc

lol.

it's funny how I done the same trying to get to ctrl+alt+del soon as the window loads but couldn't find the virus nor run the terminate fast enough to kill it.
