Backup software

Any suggestions for a full system backup software? I have a external usb HD and want to do a full backup so if needed I can restore the entire system to how it is today.

TIA

It really depends on what and how you want to do a backup. If you want a complete backup of your system the way it is exactly right now your best bet would be to make a ghost image of it. However, keep in mind that as time progresses your data will change, meaning tomorrow's word file will be different if you make changes and you won't have a backup of the changes.
Windows has a built in backup and you can specify the kind of backup that happens and when. I could go on about the differences, but that could take a while. You'll have to do a little research into what kind of backup you want, why, and when, and then decide on your best option.
1. Ghost image (imo your easiest option) Norton makes a good ghost program
2. windows
3. Veritas has worked with MS for years and the windows backup is based off of their code, but they make other prorams with more options and stuff , but this is probably beyond what you want to do

Thanks.

The ghost image is exactly what I am looking for. I am not worried about documents changing as all the docs, images, etc. are all on a remote drive. It is just so I don't have to install all the software again when formatting. Makes it quick to reimage the comp.

Anything else besides norton out there?

Acronis makes a good product, True Image. No reason to use it over ghost though.

I prefer Ghost 2003 over Ghost 9.

Ghost is the most popular, I think Imagequest had something as well.

I like Acronis True Image instead of Norton Ghost.
