Scrib, how long did it take them to ship your laptop out? I paid for overnight shipping, but am wondering how long it'll be until they actually ship it.

 

The 12" AlBooks aren't shipping yet. Mine is supposed to ship on 9/26, so we'll see.

People who have ordered the 15" AlBooks have been getting them pretty quick.

It was the basic 1.25 - nothing changed. So i figure it'll be exactly what is on the shelf in the warehouse, which is good.

I ordered through the computer store on campus (same prices as online, and it avoids some hassles for me), so i can't check the order status online THey claimed i could get overnight shipping for $20 although the apple site shows 2-3 days for $12 for me- must be a reseller option or something.

I placed the order late - about 6:00 PM EST on Friday. It probably didn't get processed until Monday, and was shipped today if i'm lucky. :x:

I really like the idea of the nylon sleeve case, that'll be great for carrying just the laptop around if i want to. I just need to find a decent backpack now, my current one is too small to hold both a powerbook and my books.

Suggestions?

SFbags only has the "messenger" type. I'm interested in a double-strap backpack. Targus has one i'd really like, but it's $80. $40 + $80 = too much for my blood.

 

I get the Wenger Swiss Army Bags, they are really well made.
