Apple: WWDC Thread
and the president of verizon still hasnt lived up to his claim they would best the iphone. In fact he looks like a total fool saying the iphone would never grab the marketshare. Same goes for the Palm President.

I don't get why places are saying the iphone got a much needed upgrade to its camera - from what ive seen the first 2 iphones had one of the best phone cameras with excellent low-light ability as well. It just seems like its hard to take a bad pic with it.
btw I didn't know the last iterations of iphone didnt have VIDEO!! WTF? phones have had video since what, early 2000's???? right up there with copy/paste. welcome to 2001, iphone.
and, ridiculous price on that $99. that is amazing.

and video has pissed me off, you can get video if you jailbreak it though.....is video a part of OS 3.0 or only the new phone itself?

FYI, does anyone know how to move contacts from my Iphone TO my XP pc? I've got a new laptop and want to put my contacts on it and they are all on my phone. Don't know how to get them over there.
So I started the process of getting a 3Gs and I got to this screen. It says it'd cost me $400 for a 16gb but if I waited until 12.18.09 I may qualify for the standard upgrade price, does that mean $199?
Landscape will help, but the tactile feedback is what is so damn nice about having a hardware keyboard in lieu of software. Before I got my iPhone there were so many times I could be texting while not looking so I can continue a conversation without having to look down. or looking at something on my computer screen while copying it to my phone without having to look at the phone to type.
it's not a matter of getting old or not as someone else mentioned, it's about usability. Apple hasn't showed a strong presence or desire to make their phone go corporate other than adding exchange support, but if they ever do decide to do this, they are going to have to add a real keyboard IMHO.

I've never used a phone in which I miss as many calls as this one. my phone is usually in my pocket and I miss calls all the time. I have vibration on but still miss them cause I can't hear anything or the vibration isn't strong enough. i don't wear baggy pants I usually wear express or maybe A&F jeans which aren't girls jeans they're just normal. For work I wear black casual pants and I miss calls with those too.
Yea that sounds about right. It means right now you are paying the early upgrade price and in December you will qualify for the upgrade price.

I really don't understand why they had to take away the ExpressCard slot from the MBP, just to put in an SD card reader. How is this an upgrade? They could have just included a free SD ExpressCard reader and be done with it.
I have the feeling that Apple never wants you to upgrade your Mac. They should just lease these things out so everyone always has the latest hardware.

I think I'm one of the only people who actually uses the PCMCIA slot on the older power books.
And I'm one of the only people I know who would use the ExpressCard slot on the MBP...BUT anything I would use those slots for...I can easily use a USB reader to replace either slot.
Am I the only one who saw the unlimited RAM option? 32GB Ram no prob...wanna stuff 64GB? 128GB?? What's the highest config you can go?
Windows???? What is it 8GB?
I'm upgrading to Snow Leopard soon. I'm getting ready to run a time machine backup this week

What are you talking about? Put down the crack pipe, Windows supports way more than 8gb RAM.
I wonder what the $99 iPhone will do to iTouch sales? Seems as if they'd evaporate them eventually, and I'd say that Apple probably makes more $$$ selling the 8gb iPhone than the iTouch.
touch doesn't require a 2-year subscription. Also I think touch prices will drop soon because the cost of hardware will keep decreasing.
Normally I wouldn't believe this when it comes to Apple, but their recent foray into lowering prices of their computers and iPods makes me a believer that this could happen.

The people who use SD's far outnumber any other flash memory.
And the price of SD memory is so damn cheaper and getting cheaper and cheaper. SDHC memory is getting to be even cheaper. You can get 8GB SDHC cards for far less than $50. Much better buying that than a USB flash drives simply because it can be used in so many situations. The number of devices that support SD cards (cameras, cell phones, even some vehicles) warranted the need for an SD card reader built-in to the macbooks long ago. It was only a matter of time before they did this [hopefully]. Not including this on the macbook was one of my gripes long ago as it's a standard feature on many pc laptops.
the keynote video is live and you can watch it here (I'm already annoyed of Phil Schiller)

^ 99 bucks is crazy and shocking, but will it really draw outrageous number of new contracts?? There are several other factors in getting iphone other than just getting the iphone... like the cost and quality
for example, I've used my brother's 3G, and I think my helio was faster than iphone's 3g.. (well.. helio uses sprint, so of course)

such a disappointing aspect of the 3G, you'd think they'd correct it on the 3GS.
