Apple: OS X Mountain Lion
How are the keyboard shortcuts in OSX? I haven't tinkered with the Mac mini since my mom is using it.
I just noticed that 75% of the time in win 7, I'm using keyboard shortcuts instead of the mouse.

command+space is probably one i use most to get to Spotlight and then you can run anything you want from there.
you can access just about everything you want...they are currently focusing more on the trackpad shortcuts, but you can still do just about anything you need with the keyboard.

You can download it for free here: http://www.alfredapp.com/
You can set up shortcuts to launch apps, and it will prioritize by which apps you used most often. There are commands to do google searches, wiki, thesaurus, calculator, iTunes browsing/playing, and manipulate files. There's also a power pack that you can buy which expands its capabilities in many ways.
I think I am in the minority because I'm not a fan of the trackpad at all and probably for the same reason why I hate the trackpad on the MBP. I think the button to handle clicks is too hard compared to mouse clicks and I don't like the tap gesture to represent single mouse clicks because I can't tell you how many times the pad has thought I tapped when I didn't.
Sly, you can disable that feature, well...at least you can on the MBP, you can make it to where you have to press down.
I for one love the smoothness of the trackpad, makes browsing so much faster.

IMHO, a pen tablet is the best input device because it greatly reduces the amount of strain on your hand compared to using a mouse or trackpad.
I also despise the current generation of keyboards on the market and we have Apple to thank for that because everyone began copying their design. Way to go Apple for making the keyboard so damn unergonomic with what you think is a cool looking keybaord just because the keys are separated requiring more movement of a person's hand to type. Yea, smart idea.
Not exactly what you mentioned.. but, you can use an app launcher like Alfred that I mentioned above. You'd have to purchase the power pack for 15 euro, but that would open it up to lots of customization plus you can add user created extensions and scripts. There's a plugin with spotify controls built in, so you can launch the program with one hotkey say cmd+s, then use a range of cmdline-like commands to do whatever you'd like, find artist, play tracks, etc. I'm finking with it now.. fun!

Are any of you guys having problems viewing categories in the Mac App Store? I don't know when this happened on my machine, but when I click a category, nothing happens. I noticed this prior to updating to 10.8.1

OS X Mountain Lion has a semi-secret directory stuffed full of beautiful wallpapers, including photos from National Geographic and images taken with the Hubble Space Telescope. Luckily, they're easy to find and use. You just have to know where to look.
This tip comes to us from the folks at OS X Daily. To uncover these hidden wallpapers, press Cmd + Shift + G from your desktop to bring up the "Go to folder" dialog. Then paste this in and press enter:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.Framework/Versions/A/Resources/Default Collections/
If that folder path or the images look familiar, it's because OS X uses the high-resolution photos for the stock screensavers. Once you have the folder open, you can copy the images to where you keep your other wallpaper images, upload them to Dropbox, or use them anywhere else you need some fresh desktop wallpaper.

I'm installing it right now, will check what the battery meter returns after the computer reboots.
So far it may have helped, gonna try recalibrating my new battery to see if that also helps any. If I shut down a bunch of services that I'm not using, my computer reports 3:31 hours left with only Firefox open. Not horrible, but definitely not as great as 8 hrs on the new macbook pros.
