NOT trying to sound like I am hating, because frankly I use iOS devices as well as android, but a question for those of you deeply embedded in the iOS infrastructure:
Does it make you angry or frustrated with Apple that a lot of these new and amazing features in iOS have been in android for a number of years?

Plus, for the most part, I feel Apple implements them better. I don't care if NFC is restricted to Apple Pay as long as Apple pay works at more retailers than Androids version.

I don't get this whole android vs ios thing, who cares what someone else uses, just use what works for you.

Not even really that, but the OS just felt cumbersome, it wasn't very user friendly IMO and it felt like I had to hunt to get somewhere.
I do miss widgets but iPhones aren't really set up to utilize them even if they could so I don't miss them too much.

What's annoying to me is not that Androids might have had something before iOS (I find this to be a very moot argument) but that Android people feel an incessant need to point that out every chance they get, as we have seen in the past days. I can truly tell you that I have never wanted NFC during the entire duration I haven't had it on my iPhone. Now that it is coming, will I use it, well sure. And the same goes for anything else.
Phones have a peculiar place in technology because of the cellular contract. It's not fun to switch or deal with the companies regarding plans, devices, moving, etc. That being said, while I've had the iPhones, I'm not even interested in what else is out there - I'm not interested in what features another phone might have that mine doesn't. Why? Because even if I found SOME thing it had that I don't, it wouldn't make me want to get that phone. So in effect it is pointless to me.
And ultimately the argument is ridiculous because of the fact that the iPhone paved the way for all smartphones, period.

What's worse is android users made fun of iOS for not having things, or the iPhone for a small screen, and now that they are implementing them they just call Apple copycats. Lol
Lose-lose.

I do find it weird that people (not implying the ones in here) seem to get an inflated sense of self-worth because of the brand of their stupid cellphone.
Seriously?

smartphones are very personal devices and people do have strong opinions about them -

Sure...a strong opinion is warranted. You like the phone you like the phone. But, I'm talking about an inflated sense of self-worth.
That's like a handyman going around with an inflated ego because of the brand of his wrench.

Apple users feel that way because they pay a premium price for what they feel is a more premium device. That's where the snobbiness comes from.
Apple doesn't make those $100 toaster phones so their products project that "higher-end image".

To me, if you buy a phone outright without contract, it's like $800+ easy minimum around here. Apple is give or take a few more but it's kinda all around the same ballpark now, no?

I'm glad Android and Windows came along after iOS. If not iOS probably would be missing a ton of features and vice versa. Competition pushes everyone.

Installed iOS 8 on the iPad, not a big difference for what I do.

Anyhow, a bit late to this thread because I truly didn't bother to look up the 6 until just today and noticed how big it is.
I'll say this: when the Sammy Note came out, the general thought by most of the naysayers was mehhhh-too-big. Well, now that Apple has something that to me, feels like the Apple iNote...will the complaint of "too big" be prevalent anymore?
Given Apple's market standing...I suspect not. Maybe it'll be hip/cool/shizzle to carry something the size of a piece of toast now?

My HTC One (original) is as big as I'll go.
Yeah yeah that's what she said. But seriously, anything more just seems stupid and won't fit in my pocket.

So generalizing here...
4.5", 5.5" phones
8", 10", 12" tablets
13", 15", 17" laptops
24", 27", 30" monitors
That's what everything will end up being...

I use Apple because of what I can do with the photo apps, something your phones serious lack. And would still be at the beginning of time if Goggle didn't by Nik Software for Snapseed and totally FUCK UP and great photography software company!
