From: where the weather suits my clothes
So I've had my iPhone for a few weeks now.
Left the charging cable at my office on Friday. So from Friday night until tonight I'm only down to ~50% charge.
If it was my Touch Pro2 the battery would have died before Saturday morning. Nice job Apple.

Aw man I hoped iPhone 4 batteries would be great. I ordered a bunch of charging cables off this one guy on ebay and they all work great. $1.50 each instead of the ridiculous $19 per at the Apple Store. Only problem is that my 2yr old loves chewing on them.

Great news Guys! Remember when Steve Jobs got on stage and said that they'd have the proximity sensor issue fixed by the next iOS update?
well now it's being reported that it isn't going to happen in iOS 4.1! Awesome!

I guess I'll be sticking with my JB'd 4.0.1 cause what other reason was there to upgrade to 4.1 than to fix the proximity sensor?

The launch of the iPhone 4 came with quite a few issues; first and most importantly were the antenna issues experienced when holding the device but users also complained of a proximity sensor glitch that would result in the hanging up of calls or mysterious button presses that would mute or invite another person into the call.
When Steve Jobs took to the stage to address the signal issues, he also said that Apple would work on a fix for the proximity sensor glitch, releasing it when they launched the next major iOS 4 upgrade.
With iOS 4.1 in its final beta testing stages and about to be released to the world, it appears the fix will not be forthcoming when it rolls out to users.
Apple Australia spokeswoman Fiona Martin has acknowledged that the company has yet to fix the proximity sensor issue, something that will have iPhone 4 users up in arms when they download the update, only to find the problems are still apparent.
Apple’s September 1st event will likely focus on the company’s new media initiatives, we wonder if this issue will be addressed or swept under the carpet?

IMO I think it's software. Because if it was hardware it would likely happen all the time on my phone.
It only happens rarely on my phone. I think I only experienced it once so far.

The fact that it glitches randomly would make it seem like a loose connection type of thing, and it causes random issues.
If it was a corrupt file, it would b consistent, right?

If it was software, wouldn't all iPhones be affected? I have never had a single problem, whether it was 4.0 when I bought the phone or after I update to 401.

Iphones are worth more in the used market than they are in the new because you don't get locked into a 2 year contract.
People are selling Iphone 4's in my area for $700-900.

people would be screaming for a refund/exchange... apple knows they dont want that problem on their hands..
the white phones/ newer phones wont have any different hardware than the current ones, if they did.. apple is in for some deep shit with customers.

Woops.. missed / forgot about that little "rumor" word in the Gizmodo article I read. hope they do something tho. but I guess its more likely itll happen with the next iteration..

i dont doubt that apple is capable of doing it, it would just be really stupid on their part.
the lawsuits would be endless.. not to mention the screaming customers in the store demanding the new phones.

The guy I sold my 3GS to wanted to buy my 4 as soon as I let him use it for a minute or so. I denied since I'd have to risk getting lucky getting a 4 with iOS4.0.1 again.

What they haven't fixed the antenna issue yet!? I could've sworn that people were reporting that their iPhone 4's that they bought a few weeks after launch didn't have the issue, remember Cochese?
I told you those people were full of shit
