For anyone who's in the market for a laptop

I got in on the $750 off $1499 in November. It's a great deal and there weren't any strings attached. Only thing is that Dell bumps their prices up when they offer this deal.
Also, I'd suggest that people who are jumping in on this go through a site like Fatwallet or similar that gives you cash back on these deals. When I bought my Dell in Nov, not only did I get the $750 off, I also got 3% back from Fatwallet. Lastly, if you're a student, you can also call in for the student discount that Dell offers. The student discount ranges anywhere from 5-10%.

I wouldn't recommend calling anything in with Dell, they have notoriously bad wait times and overall phone support.

and 10,000....is a lot of computers. Dell does an absurd amount of business if these will be used up within hours.

You can customize it. Well actually you have to, since only one out of the six or seven models has a base price over $1500 (the XPS for $2200+).
It was too late to cancel my 700m order from yesterday by the time I found out about this. Oh well, at least I'll have it by the end of the week

I can't decide between a 6000 and 9300. I configured them almost the same, with the difference being 6000 is 15.4" and 9300 is a 17" and about $285 more (as I configured it)

I am glad to see you all already figured this out. I just got an email saying it should be a go for tomorrow.
To confirm a few questions in this thread: ( I am a production manager for Dell)
1) You do not have to sign up for 3 yrs of service
2) Beetroot is right in everything he said, i.e--customize part
3) There was not a limit of 10 k last time and I have not heard this. There were limits, but they were platform specific. Might have changed this time.
4) THIS IS NOT OVERSTOCK--I have said it a million times, we make nothing in advance. These will all be custom made to your specs. Just like last time.
5) You can use a student discount
6) Someone said absurd amount of business---Dell sales approx 40k dimension desktops per day in the Americas alone. This number can go up and down. It is alot of business. Last time I think they sold almost 80k laptops in 10 hours with this half off promo.

I guess I was a little vague in my last post. I already have a laptop (5-6 years old) and have been looking for a good deal, and this seems to be it. $750 bucks off and the student discount are gonna get me a good good deal!
