Anyone have problems with their microsoft wireless mouse?

My microsoft wireless mouse/desktop combo keeps on screwing up.

The keyboard works fine, but at random times the wireless mouse will not respond, and then I have to hit the connect on the wireless receiver and the mouse to get it to connect again. Has anyone experienced this as well, and knows what to do to make the wireless mouse not randomly stop working.

I have it - it tends to get flakey if the batteries are weak, but overall I'm reasonably happy with it.

Batteries

I also have the MS wireless kb and mouse. They get fidgety when running low on batteries.

If you install the software, there's a built in battery meter that will pop up in your system tray when the batteries are low.

Change the batteries, install the latest drivers from M$'s website, add a mouse pad.

I had problems for a couple months but added a mousepad and it works fine. Even though it is optical...

I've never had any problems at all with my MS Wireless at work, however my Logitech wireless at home is just as good and goes through about 1/2 the batteries as MS.

Therefore Logitech > MS

Fits the hand better too, and the mouse is rechargeable...

(I have the MX Duo)

okay, my damn mouse is now starting to flake out.
Batteries are fully charged too. If I leave it idle for maybe 5 seconds, it won't move unless I click a button.

My mouse was getting REALLY bad. It would freeze up halfway as I was moving the mouse across the screen. Very very irritating - must be some sort of interference.

Anyway, got a logitech MX700 and it's great. Reviewers slag on the 'cruise up/down' and alt-tab button, but I think they're all great. And having a 'back' browser button on the mouse is surprisingly cool. It's getting a bit crazy how many buttons are on mice now - it's as bad as those flightmaster joysticks.

Anyway, anyone looking for a mouse, I highly recommend this one.

I had the MS bluetooth wireless mouse. I threw the POS out. It was complete junk.

Buy the MX1000 Logitech man. (the mx700 is the older model now) MX1000 uses a laser to illuminate the surface. Battery like if excellent, the best wireless mouse.

Coincidently I just happen to be at my Fathers apartment usuing the above referenced materials. interesting.

One complaint I do have is on this wireless keyboard, sometimes when I type a word with two identical letters after eachother (i.e. Kill, ass, llama, ball) Ball would appear B** :wtf:
I have no idea what causes it either.

I'm w/ you Beet, have had mine for 2 years at home and 1 at work and wouldn't trade it for anything. Weirds out when the batteries are low so just change 'em and you're good to go.
