Post Another simple Excel how-to question.

At my job they make the schedule in Excel 2007 and the first Column (column A) is all the employees names. When my manager makes the schedule she ends up having to scroll to the right to fill out the schedule as the whole thing won't fit on the screen. Well the problem is that when she scrolls to the right the first column disappears and she can no longer see which person she's writing the schedule for without scrolling back to the beginning. So she ends up scrolling back and forth. She wants to know have she can make it so that column A is always displayed when she scrolls to the right. this is using Excel 2007. I've looked everywhere and can't figure out how to do this. but then again Excel is my biggest weakpoint so I turn to AZ again for another simple question.

How do you make that pop up window? You know when you first open up an excel document and there's like a warning window that pops up?

like if there's a macro in the document? That might be automatic. Otherwise there may be something in group policy that does it.

No idea, i just need it for a shared document that I use at work. nabasiclaly it's one single person who comes and fucks it up every time he edits the Excel file. I want to put one of those pop up notes for him to "remind" him even though he's been told.

you can do comments. So in excel 2007 go to the review tab and choose new comment and type whatever it is and it should be there for everyone to see.

Just smack him in the head with a metal pipe.

Or lock the sheet and only give others the password, not him.

ok is there a way to freeze the first row and column at the same time. I tried it but they cancel each other out. I also chose the freeze panes option and was just weird, Id just like the first row and column frozen not the first 15 rows and 6 columns that's too much.
