If the sound quality is good enough to play music then I can see value. Otherwise I can usually say hey siri or OK google and get the same results.

 

One thing I hate: voice commands.

One thing I love: a nice LED ring.

This has me so conflicted.

Edit: I feel weird addressing an inanimate object by name too. 'Alexa'? WTF?

I wouldn't even touch this product. The always on mic that beems everything to the cloud? No thanks.

This product is just a way so that you can order products from Amazon with a simple verbal command. No thanks.

I was hoping the BT speaker would be better. I also think one day they they will tie it to the Amazon Fire stick and you can say - play (movie title) and it will play. I got it mostly because its a new toy.

 

If I had Prime, I'd jump on this too...just because it looks like a fun gadget. Might have to keep an eye out if/when Google/Microsoft/Apple jumps on the bandwagon.

 

So I just watched that verge video and realized something. We look like complete imbeciles talking to speaker cans and remote controls. Soon we will have no people skills. This is what we have become.

 

I think all this makes us smarter. Very easy to get the facts now.

Using it more to play music and my son likes doing that. Not worth $200, but probably worth the $90 I payed for it.
