Adding Vista to new system with XP Pro . . .

Purchasing a new system with XP Pro installed from those who shall not be named. If I purchase Vista Home Premium OEM to install as a dual boot, will vista create the extra partition during the installation, or should I order the system with (2) partions already on the drive? I would take the chance on Vista only, but my slide scanner is not supported and never will be it seems.

Scanner not supported eh? You sure? I have an old Dlink wireless USB A/B model that has no vista drivers so I just used XP drivers. Actually I did the same with all my peripherals that were older and they are working fine for me. Dual boot aspect, meh don't know crap about that.

No you will need to create the partition first.

There are plenty of tools out there that will do them. I have a boot CD that you can use that has partition magic on it. PM me.
