I believe Garland was 2nd in the al in wins and garcia is punishing on the road. edit: and i think the sox will be better against petitte and clemens since they were both in the al for so long. as well as having podsednik who played against the astros many times when he was on the brewers last year.

Well, that's why they play the game. IMHO, Contreras splitter is nearly unhittable and he has finally harnassed his skills...his second half stats in the season says it all. The only player that scares me on the Stros is Oswalt and well, his opposing pitcher Garland has not exactly been lousy with his 18 wins and his masterful performance against an Angels team that hits way better than Houston...

But for Guerrero(1 of the top 3 players in the game) the Astros are a better hitting team with much more power potential. Garland often pitched when the Sox faced the 3rd or 4th pitcher in the opposing team's rotation. I think he's a good pitcher but not in the same class as an "on" Contreras or Buehrle nearly anytime. You're right about Podsednik. That's why the keys to the Series are how do the Astros handle him--he's been incredibly effective against them over the years and that's with a very mediocre team, will Ensberg find his stroke again and game 4 Backe-Garcia.

Everywhere I drove today on the roads, on the billboard signs especially near toll plazas, and on cars they all had the Sox logos.

How come I didn't see all these fans earlier this year??? Earlier this year and especially at the Taste of Chicago all I saw was Cubs gear.

because 2003 came before late 2005. i customer at my work said it wonderfully; the Cubs will be concerned because many of the "bandwagon fans" are switching wagons. Also, Cub fans have more pride than Sox fans; I see many Cub fans (myself included) still repping the Cubs logo. But hey, good for you guys for coming this far, and I can see nothing less than the WS with the Sox this year. BTW; you Sox fans know how/when to party. A Game 1 win, and I found myself with a bunch of drunk, happy Sox fans. Good for you guys

^ didn't notice. I just read the pro-astro threads.... anyways, I think it's hilarious how the ump is now being scapegoated... I mean seriously... it barely (if it did) touch the tip of the bat, impossible to see from the umps standpoint, matter of fact, no one could see it until Fox blew it up like 400x

actually all of this works out for Cubs fans too..

the uber-bandwagoneers will start going to more Sox games, leaving more seats open at Wrigley! BTW, I'd like to congradulate the 2005 Chicago Cubs for taking the attendance title this year, with 98% attendance. YEAH BABY!!

Go go White Sox, good for you guys! as for your fans, until they stop hating the Cubs so much, i have little respect for them. This team has so much luck, with so much heart, and such excellent performance when an opportunity is given. i'll give my official congrats when it happens.

yea lol and even if they reversed it or something, the only difference it would have made is that they would have lost.

oops
