I was shocked Rampage won, after watching his first UFC fight he was sloppy and not doing that great. He was either sandbagging during that fight or trained like a maniac before he got in the ring with Chuck.
The way I see it is the winner of the Evans vs. Ortiz fight will get a crack at the belt. The loser will get in the octagon with Liddell. Then the winner of the Liddell vs. the loser of the Ortiz/Evans fight will get a shot at the belt, so its going to take a while for all of this to take place. I am glad there is finally a little excitement in this weight division, for the last 2 years Liddell has been dominating.

Tito's fight with Rashad might be his last chance depending on how many more fights he has left in his contract. It should definitely make for an interesting fight though.
I think Chuck's next fight will be against Wanderlei Silva if they can convince him not to sit out the rest of the year. They are both coming off of losses, the fight was supposed to happen a while back and Chuck has lost twice to Rampage while Wandy has beat Rampage twice.

I agree with you 100%
Tito already has the gatekeeper role, and if he were to lose to Rashad, his likelyhood of a title shot will be slimmer and slimmer. Liddell needs to the fight Silva and then Shogun. If he can get past both, he should have another shot at the title regardless if Hendo or Rampage will be holding it then.

The "main" event was somewhat unfortunate, since it provided evidence for UFC naysayers (UFC fighters simply can't take a punch; UFC fights are undisciplined with wild haymakers deciding outcomes; etc.). But a much-hyped sporting event rarely meets expectations anyhow.
What's funny is that for all the talk of UFC has entered the mainstream consciousness as the "next big thing", the fights from several years back were actually much more entertaining since matches often pitted different styles against one another (i.e. kickboxing vs. BJJ; wrestling vs. boxing). It was always interesting to see how different fighters used their primary fighting background/training and integrated skills from other martial art forms.
However, today, UFC is very much homogenized with fighters with more-or-less identical styles (ground-and-pound) that deviate very little from one another ... that's why there are so many so-called "upsets." Everyone's pretty much doing the same thing.

rampage isn't a weak fellow, and one shot knockouts happen all the time in UFC/MMA in general.
Hell, Couture got knocked out with one of Chuck's single counter punches during the one fight where he had to retire.
