Pacman Jones
Word is hes changing his name to 2Pacman Jones.
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Police seized $81,020 in cash belonging to pro football player Adam "Pacman" Jones, which they said sparked a melee and a triple shooting at a strip club over the weekend, court documents show.
Jones, a cornerback with the Tennessee Titans, was showering more than 40 strippers onstage at Minxx Gentlemen's Club & Lounge early Monday with the cash "intended as a visual effect," according to a search warrant. But a scuffle broke out when the Houston promoter who hired the strippers told them to pick the money up.

Personally, I think Adam Jones ... along with Chris Henry... should be kicked out of the NFL.
on a side note... he shouldn't be allowed to have "P JONES" on his uniform, it should say A JONES.

Drug Dealer's Recorded Calls Mention Pacman's Troubles

Drug Dealer's Recorded Calls Mention Pacman's Troubles
Adam "Pacman" Jones was at the scene of a triple shooting at a Las Vegas Strip Club a week ago and although police said he is only a witness there are allegations he knows the shooter and may have started the mêlée.
Exclusive conversations from a drug investigation revealed more into Jones' association with trouble.
In March, 2006 Metro Police announced some major drug arrests. A lot of the evidence for the arrests was from conversations police had taped with different dealers. Although Jones faced no charges in connection with the investigation, his name was mentioned in the taped recordings.
In one of Metro's largest busts to date, the drug trafficking investigation netting nearly 2,000 pounds of drugs, nine major arrests and more than 20 vehicles; the most noticeable was a Cadillac linked to Jones.
Jones faced no charges in the drug investigation. The car wasn't registered to him and was apparently borrowed for a rap video.
Jones' buddy convicted drug dealer Darryl Moore was the center of the investigation and now his conversations may be very telling of Jones' own problems.
"We gotta slow down, man. We gotta get him focused on football, man. He's focused on too much other s****," Moore said.
NewsChannel 5 obtained wiretapped phone conversations between Moore and his friends. In one conversation he talked about Jones throwing his money into gambling, putting thousands of dollars on college games to make a quick buck.
Moore, a convicted Felon now facing another round of hard time, actually worried Jones was spiraling out of control.
Moore said he cared about his friend and how all of his habit could affect his career.
"You know, I was talkin' to him the other day about smokin', and he was like ‘man, if I didn't smoke I couldn't take all the stress that I'm dealing with right now,'" Moore said.
Moore also talked about Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher who he said visited Jones at home.
"Fisher's being as patient as a m*****f***** as he can. Fisher gotta win. Fisher trying to win...He ain't putting up with that s***," Moore said.
The Titans have said in the past they've talked to Jones. Lawyers and judges have certainly counseled him as well.
"He gotta concentrate on season...that ******* drug test coming up," he said. "We telling him he needed 33 days before he took his ******* test; dry-out, and he didn't...that's let me know right there that he ain't taking his ****** job serious."
Jones faced no charges in connection with the drug arrests. He has not been charged with anything in the Vegas incident.
However, Moore has been indicted and will face trial next month.
Titans management has not commented specifically on Jones future with the team except to say they have talked about it, will talk to Pacman and there is always the potential of letting him go.

he's a moron....
no matter what age these guys are, when will they learn that they need to cut loose the childish endeavors that they used to partake in, or be connected with.
They are in the spotlight whether they make $500,000 or $500 million, and the things they do WILL be scrutinized....
Sports is a business, and more sooner than later, they gotta realize that they are jeopardizing their jobs (which of course leads to jeopardizing their family)...

Honestly, I don't care what a athlete does off the field.
I am not a fan of their personal life or their life outside of their sport. I am a fan of their abilities at their respective sport.

^ Alright...fair enough. So, by that virtue, if the athlete in question committed homicide or was a pedophile, it's all good and you don't mind paying $$$ to watch him play if say, he was theoretically the second coming of Jim Brown...?

Now, drunken driving, playing with guns, drugs, etc, in which crimes are usually punished by probation and minimal stints in county jails, that is a different story. Everyone, not just athletes, have lapse in judgments, and shouldn't be held to a higher public standard just because their profession is.

The guy has been in trouble numerous times already. And in this case, shots were fired and the only reason no one got killed was 1) luck and 2) terrible aim. So, I guess given the context of your post which I first asked my question, I thought it was it was appropriate to see what was your take on athletes who commit crimes that warrant severe punishment.

my only beef with the pacman case is unlike chris henry pacman has yet to be convicted of any of the things that got him suspended. Had he actually been convicted that would be one thing. Michael Vick can still play with charges looming over him but pacman cant? where is the fairness in that.

If you got caught with drugs or illegal weapons, would your current employer fire or suspend you?
The NFL should care about what goes on, on the football field, and not be concerned with their image and how people will perceive them.

Vicks alleged crimes carry far worse punishments than Pacman's alleged crimes do, yet, Goodell is doing nothing to Vick.

I would also argue they SHOULD be held to a higher standard. Its a privilege to be one of the 1800 or so players in the NFL, and they should act like responsible adults. Weather they like it they are role models and its part of their job and responsibility.

You're in the minority here. The NFL as an organization has the right to be concerned with their image. 32 owners seem to think differently then you...

If you or I would have done the same thing in Las Vegas that Pacman did, the incident would not have even made the evening news.
Ray Lewis went on trial for attempt murder, got a felony weapons charge, he still plays in the NFL.
Dany Heatly killed his team mate while driving over 100MPH in a residential neighborhood, was charged with vehicular homicide, and he still plays in the NHL.
Delmond Young just got caught doing statutory rape, he is still in the lineup for the MLB.
I am sure there are many more? Why make an example out of Pacman with the harsh punishment?
