First of all, I don't know who you are and I've never had a conversation with you, so how do I keep using the word "ironic"? I was saying (sarcastically) that it is very ironic how our government is at such odds with Putin and the media would just so happen to have such a negative portrayal of Sochi.
Are you all caught up now? I can dumb things down as much as you'd like... I wasn't intending my comments for a dense audience, but I can hire an interpreter for you since your mind seems to work a bit slow.

Fwiw, rain on your wedding day isn't ironic, it's just unfortunate.

Anyone remember the Atlanta summer games, many athletes never got to their events and somebody put an bomb in a garbage can.
Unfortunately politics in some years go hand in hand with the Olympic games, but the our athletes and those of other countries are still competing for their countries and countryman.

Seems we have a few Russians living in the US who feel they have to stand up for the Country they have left.

The Olympics are a time to forget about politics and appreciate the art of competition. I understand that this doesn't happen often, but don't fall into the same trap that everyone else does. Either watch the Olympics and appreciate the skilled athletes, or just go watch the Kardashians or CNN.

Maybe it wasn't up to them to leave? Most Russians I know moved here with their parents when they were just kids. So yeah I can see how they would stand up for their country even though they live here. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Is it possible to enjoy humor of the facilities, the political commentary, and the events themselves? Lets face it, this isn't just another game type thingy we watch. It's a once in 4 years event constantly moving to new venues every time and bringing the best athletes from around the world together in one spot to duke it out for 4 year supremacy in their individual sports.
It's a big deal on a big stage, the entire world is watching. What will you show them?

Did anyone catch that "wardrobe malfunction" on the ladies speed skating?
Russian chick unzipped her suit too much, realized her mistake and zipped t back up fast.
Too bad she has mosquito bites as tits.

I agree, biathlon is one of my favorites to watch. I was wondering if they still actually use .22lr or if the UN has passed some law that makes them use BB guns. I'm not sure how they load the guns so quickly?

No they're shooting 22LR, almost all are using anschutz rifles. What they're using is a specialized repeater for their bolts. Lets them chamber another round without having to move their firing hand thus saving a few seconds.

Hey jupitersolo, I`m not Russian, nor a sympathizer.
But I am of Greek descent and it goes without saying how interested I am in keeping the essence and true nature of the Olympics competitive the way it originally was intended to be.
Politicians in Olympics. Nero then Emperor of Rome competed in our Olympic games and won every event he entered. (He cheated) Shortly there after the ancient games ceased to exist. King Constantine (Greece) in the modern day version of the Olympics competed in Equestrian events.
Keep politics out of the games.
