Dallas doesn't have a chance in this series. The reason why Dirk shot so bad is because the Rockets play great defense, something the Mavs know nothing about. The Rockets are the second best team in the NBA in opponent field goal %, expect more of the same in game 2. Another thing the Mavs shot 40 free throws vs 18 for the Rockets if it wasn't for the refs trying to keep the Mavs in the game it wouldn't have been close. Rockets in 5

Let me elaborate on the comment I made. I wouldn't consider wade a phenomenal player. Although, he does have potential to become a great player. Wade has some work to do to cross the barrier between a good player and a great player. A great player can lead and carry a team to victory. I do respect his abilities as a player, no doubt he can ball.

Shaq is the key player on the heat. If shaq was not on the heat, they would not have been number one in the east, period. We'll just have to wait till shaq leaves to find out if its true, or we can look at their past performance.

Look back a few years to the Lakers. Kobe got all the attention, but after Shaq left it was apparent whom the team leader was. I feel the same holds true in Miami.

What if the Bulls beat the Heat? Anything can happen

Um hello, obviously shaq is the key player on the heat, most teams that make it anywhere dont have just one all star. Your saying that Kobie Bryant isnt a good player then because look he didnt bring his team to even the playoffs when shaq left.

You obviously need talent around you in the nba to play really well, and so by saying Shaq has made Wade is stupid. Your basically saying then that the best player on each team made the second all star on the team

Shaq serves as a motivator. Good players make their teammates better. This applies to anything. If you have a good leader, the team should excel. A prime example of this was Micheal Jordan.

thats what seperate the good from the great, sure, Kobe is a good player, but great? I wouldn't bet on it. He also has potential, just like wade.

I will say, though, that they went nuts on Indiana after it was 20-18. The bench came in and just owned the Pacers. Everything was falling for the Cs.

Wait till the Heat run into a brick wall known as "the Pistons".

The pistons defense did own Shaq last year.... but Shaq also has a better team around him this year.

It will be a good series if it happens

Fun fact of the day:

"In 28 tries, the Bulls never have lost a playoff series in which they held home-court advantage." - K.C. Johnson, Chicago Tribune

Hey Renegade: Ben Gordon > Dwayne Wade
Had to say it...

Ben Gordon is definitely a better shooter, but whether or not he develops as a more complete player is still TBD. I'll have to give the nod to Wade as the better player.

go Bulls! man i hope curry and deng comeback. are they trully out for the season? it sure was a weird feeling watching them during the playoffs w/o seeing jordan on the floor. saw pippen but he was wearing a tie in front of a mic, that was a weird sight too . hope they can keep arenas or hughes contained. coz if both of these guys + jameson get hot, that 9pt difference for the win will be gone. also, i thought paxson's jersey was retired? everytime #5 shot, in my head (paxson for 3)

miami had a decent record w/o shaq during the season. mourning is playing pretty well so even if shaq can't play as much, he should pick up the slack slightly.

if detroit does meet miami, i'd have to go detroit. more playoffs experience. the only way to stop detroit is to "d" them up. if detroit has a low shooting % there is no way they can make it up through the charity stripe.

nuggets really surprised me yesterday. i'll have to start giving them more credit. i knew andre miller can ball, but damn against the spurs, wow!

i still have to say that i'd rather see the clippers (with maggette healthy) against the suns.

anyone else stunned at jerome james' (sonics) performance. 5 offensive boards in the first 90 seconds of the game. if he can keep that up, allen and lewis can just keep shooting all they want and they can be unstoppable in the west

Let me in as well, Renegade.

If the Heats and Detroit meet in the playoffs I'll paypal you $20 if the Heats win and you paylpal me $20 if they lose.

Deal?

My take-

This year's Miami is quite similar to last year's Lakers, and Detroit had little to no problem eliminating them in game 5. The Piston's stingy defense will play the biggest role if the Miami and the Detroit meets because Shaq obvioulsy can't "dance" on the floor like he used to.

Even though Shaq is the X factor to Miami's success, he's 60% of what he was 3 years ago, and that just won't cut it.

Have you guys been watching the Heat this year?

First off all, Detroit won the season series 2-1... except one of those games was without Shaq. So they split the season series 1-1 with Shaq, and both of those games were in Detroit. But guess who has the Home Court in the playoffs.

This year's Miami is in no way similar to last year's Lakers. The only commonality is Shaq in the middle. This year, the Heat are a much better TEAM than the Lakers could've even hoped to be last year. The Lakers had a collection of individuals including Payton who just didn't fit in Phil's system, Kobe who wanted what Shaq had, and Shaq just doing what he does best.... that is absolutely nothing like the Heat this year, in fact it's the exact opposite.

Gordon: 30 points in first playoff game.
Okafor: Scratching ass while watching playoffs on his 60" plasma.

Gordon =

...but I think they'll share it like Elton Brand/Steve Francis and Jason Kidd/Grant Hill did.

Gordon
434-1,056 .411 3pt 134-331 .405 FT 233-270 .863 Rebounds 2.60 Assists 2.0 steals .65 blocks .12 TO 2.27 PPG 15.1

Wade
630-1,318 .478 3pt 13-45 .289 FT 581-762 .762 Rebounds 5.20 Assists 6.8 steals 1.57, blocks 1.06 TO 4.17 PPG 24.1

Looks to me like Wade isnt a good 3 point shooter but has a better percentage for 2 point shooting and he gets to the line a lot more than gordon. Also has more rebounds, assists, ppg, steals, blocks, but just has more turnovers.
