The only downside to all of this is that I now have to hear the '72 dolphins and how they are popping champagne.

I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see perfection. God only knows when we'll get another chance.
Best thing about that win was the fact that there are no questions or controversies about who won. No talk about the refs or bad calls. The Giants simply beat them. Great game.

I seriously doubt they'll be able to recover from this. What I mean is Get back to the SB for a few years. Not to mention that they'll likely be a lot of turnover on defense.

Just look at the 49ers when they were going for a 3-peat back in the early 90's and the Giants beat them in the NFC championship game (still depresses me to think about that game). After that NFC Championship loss they didn't get back to the SB until 95. And I think what happened to the Pats last night may be worse than what happened to my niners.

While the pats may not go 19 and 0 next year, I see no reason why they can't get to the Superbowl....Maybe a rematch

I can foresee a Manning (Giants) versus Manning (Colts) Super Bowl next year.

As for the Pats, they had a season second only to the 72 Dolphins. But honestly, it is probably tougher to go undefeated in today's NFL MUCH MORE than back in 1972. So one HAS TO give them kudos because I am fairly certain that a 16-0 regular season will not happen again for a LONG time.

What Would Don Draper Do?

and i do think that the pats will have a chance to get back to the superbowl. but this loss must have been SOOO demoralizing. but i think they have the players and personnel to overcome this...as long as they can keep their core group of guys together.
they're gonna have to do something with their defense though...they're getting older and will most likely lose several players.
i remember after adalius thomas forced the fumble, and when it looked like he recovered it, i was thinking NE just got their money's worth.

i'm guessing:
peyton: 33.3%
eli: 33.3%
cooper: 33.4% (out of pity that he couldn't be a super bowl mvp)

I don't see a problem for the Pats getting back into the big game next year either.
As for the Giants... that NFC East could be a very strong divsion next year. Giants are on a role, and hopefully they can stay consistent, especially at home

The Giants kicking the Patriots to the curb made this the best Super Bowl not involving my team, but this is the cherry that makes this Super Bowl oh-so-memorable.
Rap superstar 50 Cent kicked Paris Hilton offstage and reduced her to tears during a pre-Super Bowl concert on Thursday.
Hilton hosted the bash for 944 magazine in Scottsdale, Ariz., and was stunned when the headliner turned on her.
The two star attractions have been romantically linked in the past, but there was no love lost when Hilton tried to steal the show.
After 50 Cent name checked her during his performance, Hilton climbed onstage to dance, but was promptly told to "Get the [bleep] off the stage" by the angry star.
Onlookers tell Page Six the outburst prompted Hilton to break down in tears, which was captured on film by photographers at the event.
