NFL: 2022 Season News and Discussion Thread

Two things I didn't think I'd say this season.
The Bengals are sprinting full speed to a 0-2 start making me wonder how they went to the SB....
The Seahawks may have known EXACTLY what they were doing trading Wilson...
Some Browns fans have sunk to new lows.

That was evident as I was not holding my breath. Bears are just fodder for the Fackers...plain and simple.
Rivalry would be something if it was actually somewhat of a fight -- which it is not.
Hope the Sucs and Fackers get swallowed up in a giant sinkhole and do the rest of the planet a favor.

Though, as much as I don't like to rail on refs, the game's calls were brutal for Chicago. That 4 and inches non-TD was frankly, a TD.
I'm a realist though, TD or not, I did not expect Chicago to win but it would've made the SNF more interesting.

That call goes both ways. Had it been called a TD on the field it would have stood as called. No definitive footage of where the ball was. I get it though, it sucks being a bears fan!

Week 2 of Fantasy Football...better numbers but still got beat thanks to my opponent's performance from Hill of the Fish. I also got a donut from my Indy defence which I may change out?

Henry has been a bust so far as a 1st rounder...but, I gather it's only Week 1. I may need to shake up my QB position too with Fields being my QB1 right now. Though, justifiably, he played okay against SF and was against an elite D against the Fackers.
I'll hold onto him a bit longer with a softer schedule coming up.

There are only a small handful of defenses you can actually start week after week without much consideration. IMHO this year that's likely just the Bills and Tampa. The next Tier of defenses you can start most weeks, but you also need to be mindful of when they play the Bills or KC or some nonsense like that and consider if there are better options. The next tier are streaming options, which means you might change out a defense every single week and go purely based on who has the most favorable matchup.
I rarely have a Tier 1 defense and most seasons I aim for Tier 2, which is acquire and hold a defense that's good in most situations, but maybe stream the weeks they play really good offenses (but keep them on the roster). However in order to do that, you need roster room. One to keep the "good most of the time" defense" and one to add a streamer when needed (and for the bye week).
But I've had seasons (like this one) where I'm going to stream 100%. Mostly because I thought Miami was going to be a "good most of the time" defense and they got killed last week. I'm not sure now they are worth holding. And they play the Bills next. I streamed Cleveland and got zero for my trouble. So streaming is tough, mostly because if everyone is holding a defense on their roster for "keeps" the pool isn't great. But if you are going to go there, look ahead - grab the defense that has the best match up 2 weeks from now. You'll snipe them from the other people streaming. But you have to dedicate 2 roster spots to defenses to do that - the one you are playing this week, and the one you have ready for next week.
Regarding Indy, they play KC next week then TEN. So you definitely want another option next week, and I'm not sure yet if they are worth holding honestly. If you can trade up for a better match up next week do it. Keep your eye out for better "good most of the time" defense.

There are a few in my league doing that. I should try that though, it's hard to project how well a D will do TBH...thought Indy's was decent...didn't expect a goose-egg in Week 2.

IMHO.....
The sources I have point to SEA and and CHI as solid streamers next week. But SEA gets DET in week 4 at DET, then NO and ARI. CHI gets HOU, NYG, then MIN. ATL vs SEA and then CLE isn't bad either. NO gets CAR, MIN then SEA and CIN - also not a bad stretch.
JAX gets LAC then PHI - I'd want nothing to do with that. MIN gets DET then NO, hard pass. PHI vs WAS then JAX....not thrilled at that.

Leaky defense, right? They don't get alot of counting stats which is what I need.

But right after IND they play TB, LV, BUF, SF, then a BYE. I'm not touching them against those teams. FantasyPros (the site I like to use) has them a #15 for week 3. Per that list, CHI, SEA, NO and ATL are better choices for next week but a good margin.

Defenses fluctuate a lot except a select few elite ones that were already drafted. If you feel you whiffed on Defense, watch a few and check out their stats. Are they getting points off fluke TD's or legit points against, etc.

I'm conflicted RE: Fackers/Sucs game. On one hand, watching the Cheat lose and not buy a TD even if he has all the cheating and 99% of the all-stars on his roster was pretty pretty pretty damn awesome. On the other hand, the Fackers got a win out of this.
I guess, it cancels...so, I'm not ahead or behind. I'll take it.
@ Cheat. :ibherageretiresnao:
