NFL: 2019 Season News and Discussion Thread
Start 2019 off with a Preseason Win Go Pack Go!!
Lets hope this "new" offense shows up to play this year.
Packers 11-5, Division Champs, SuperBowl Champs! Oops, Just jinxed us!
Anyone else see anything worth noting from the first preseason games?

You think Da Bears will do okay, @svtmike ? I dunno, that schedule is a bit crazy...I see them 9-7 at best and does that get them in even?
We shall see.

It is a tough schedule, but unless a team is doing a worst to first, that’s the gauntlet that all eventual champions must run. I think they will do well with the D and the good enough offense. The real wild card to me is how much special teams have progressed.
We shall see.
We shall see.

This could get ugly real fast
"There are those around the league who now believe the Raiders could suspend Antonio Brown with the idea of trying to void the $30.125 million of guaranteed money in his contract. Which obviously would end his time in Oakland."
- From Schefter

From the old Jets GM Mike Tannebaum
"The significance of a suspension is that it would void (assuming normal contract language) his $29,125,000 in contract guarantees. However, if he's on the Active Roster on opening day his $14,625,000 '19 salary becomes guaranteed because he's a Veteran. They could suspend him

and then release him and then they would owe him nothing in terms of guaranteed money. The Raiders in all likelihood would try to recoup their $1,000,000 signing bonus as well.

Odell Beckham (hip) still hasn't "opened up yet" while running.
"It’s like an extremely fast car with the alignment off," Beckham said Thursday. Yikes. "The car can still go, but it’s dangerous.'' Beckham claims he's getting better, but admits the injury is "something that prevents me from opening up and sprinting." Frankly, that sounds a lot worse than we were expecting. It seems clear that Beckham will be out there against the Titans, but it's fair to wonder what his effectiveness might be. Hopefully we get a more encouraging update some time between now and Sunday.

WTF am I watching?
Bears decided to rest on their laurels before the season even start? They see their schedule? Ugh.
