NFL: 2017 Off-Season News and Discussion Thread

For me the championships arent a big part of it, its the season he had. They always had a "good" team on paper but never lived up to expectations. They only won 10+ games 3 times in his career. A career record of 78-49
He was good, maybe even very good, but not HOF great

But his stats consistently put him in the top 10 QBs every season he played. That's the only case anyone ever made here for HOF. Stats. Period.
I always thought he was better suited to be a backup QB, but I won't deny his stats. He is the Cowboys all time passing yards and TD record holder.
Again, his stats arguably put him within reach of the HOF.

I think if you can argue a player CAN be in the HoF, he doesn't necessarily suck. Ack hates players who's name rhymes with homo so I get it. He does have a better passer rating and completion % than Big Ben too.

I like Romo, even though fuck the Cowboys.
He is a way better QB then Aikman was, despite "muh SB rings", and is very entertaining to watch. His fake-pivot has made even the likes of JJ Watt look silly.
It's almost a shame that Jerry Jones is in the HOF given the controversies about him, and the thought that Romo won't be. I know about all the things ole Jerreh did for the game, but driving out a HOF caliber coach in Jimmy Johnson is akin to York/Baalke driving out Harbaugh.

So considering what he had around him, what Romo has done is very impressive. Even considering the fact he's made of glass.

Big Ben has won 2 superbowls and been to 2 more, Romo couldn't carry Ben's jock strap if it was in a suitcase with a handle. I'd love to see how many more games/seasons that Ben's stats are spread out compared to Romo's who was constantly hurt and missing entire seasons. Next you'll tell me RG3 is a HOF'er too

ELI MANNING ALLEGEDLY INVOLVED IN SCHEME TO SELL FAKE GAME-WORN MEMORABILIA
Eli Manning Allegedly Involved in Scheme to Sell Fake Game-Worn Memorabilia | Bleacher Report
Sorry for the all-caps. That's how the headline was written.
How long a suspension will Brady get for this scandal?
Eli Manning Allegedly Involved in Scheme to Sell Fake Game-Worn Memorabilia | Bleacher Report
Eli Manning had a role in the New York Giants' scheme to sell fake game-used memorabilia, Kaja Whitehouse and Bruce Golding of the New York Post reported.
Per court documents, Manning sent an email to equipment manager Joe Skiba that read, "2 helmets that can pass as game used. That is it. Eli."
This came shortly after a request from marketing agent Alan Zucker for two game-used helmets and jerseys.
Manning, Skiba and the Giants were among those named in a lawsuit from three memorabilia collectors.
Another email exchange featured Skiba admitting to the plaintiff that Manning created the fake memorabilia because he "didnt want to give up the real stuff."
Manning and the Giants were first sued over these allegations in 2014. Last March, the plaintiff claimed the Giants gave former player Michael Strahan a bogus jersey he thought was used during Super Bowl XLII.
One fake game-used helmet from Manning is also supposedly in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
