I wouldn't be surprised if he sabotages his stay in Sacramento somehow.

I am going to miss Peja
I think this is a terrible trade, you trade a player who is having an injury filled year with someone who has clearly stated that he's not in this for the long haul and is a complete nut-case.
Oh well, I don't think the Kings can get any worse at this point.

Raptors fire GM Babcock

The Toronto Raptors have fired general manager Rob Babcock. Wayne Embry will serve as interim general manager.
The announcement was made at a Thursday afternoon news conference by Richard Peddie, the president and chief executive officer of Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment.
Toronto is 14-29 this season and sits in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Babcock was was hired on June 7, 2004. His reign got off to a rocky start when he selected centre Rafael Araujo with the 8th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. The pick was widely panned and Araujo has been a bust to this point.
On December 17, 2004, Babcock traded disgruntled superstar Vince Carter to the New Jersey Nets in exchange for Alonzo Mourning, Aaron Williams, Eric Williams and two first round draft picks. The trade earned Babcock the wrath of Raptors' fans and may have ultimately sealed his fate.
It didn't help when Babcock told local media over the summer that he didn't expect the team to play very well this year.
"There will be growing pains, no doubt about it," Babcock said. "Whether we win or lose more games than last year, I think if you look at us on paper, we probably will not win as many games as last year."
His 2005 draft class was also criticized, but to be fair, has shown promise. Babcock also earned praise before the season for trading malcontent Rafer Alston for solid pro Mike James, but the Raptors got off to a terrible 1-16 start.
The Raptors are actually .500 since that stretch (13-13), but have lost five of six.

I think the Warriors did something to the ref's union or something...cuz those refs call everything on the Warriors and if the same thing on the other end occurs..they whistle the Warriors....if it was a few games i wouldnt be bitching...but they have been awful all year....wish the refs were actually accountable for their whistles.

I see... Man, I don't know about college coaches coming over to the NBA. They haven't fare too well recently.

So, if you want to, consider their punishment a fine that amounts to playoff pay.

I thought the Vince Carter for salary and 2 1st rounders was fair considering Vince gave up on them and didn't want to be there. Why do these players make it known that they want to be traded which lowers their value and makes it a PITA to get traded. Also I thought the Raptors squad wasn't horrible but that Araujo selection looks worse and worse. It's not like free agents are dying to play for Toronto.

i dont know why they were so hyped up at the beginning of the season. Even when they are healthy with their whole team, they aren't that good. jermaine oneal, artest, and stephen jackson isn't a championship calibur team, or even an eastern conference championship team.
same with denver, even though they did have a nice 2nd half run last year. no way they can contend with SA, the suns, or dallas

they beat SA on the road which is impressive, not sure if they just caught them on a bad day, and they beat cleveland.
the other teams they beat weren't anything special. they have no chance in the playoffs...

indiana could never take down the pistons, nor can the heat i believe. maybe last years team, but even then, the pacers couldn't do it.
i agree with you there, but 2 teams is all they need. the heat can take down most of the teams in the west, and put up a good fight with SAS, PHO, and DAL. the pistons can, and will beat one of them for the championship.
good stat if you guys missed it playing all day on ESPN. in nba history, all 5 or 6 teams who have won the first 35 of 40 games have won the championship
