Miami Heat win back to back titles Yummy still in denial. But let's talk about the other 29 teams that want to better themselves.

I say keep the Heat as is and not trade Bosh. The offense wasn't designed for him to post up anyways but more to move the other team's big men out of the middle and not clog for James and Wade. Sure he won't get stats but I say ride the train. Birdman is getting paid though

I would like to see bosh back in the 4th spot and have a true center. I just hate Bosh's shot selection sometimes.

to my understanding, he had a problem with the whole Doc and Garnett deal... I don't see why the deal with only Doc can't happen.

well, yeah... the first round pick + DJ for Garnett along with Doc, I just didn't go into it. But right now, Garnett isn't even in the picture (which would mean 1st round pick isn't either, so I don't see why Stern would have an issue with the current deal)

Yeah we had to compensate the Knicks when we got Riley with a draft pick. I think we won that trade

Rivers to the Clippers...it rhymes!

Doc Rivers will be the next coach of the Los Angeles Clippers if the NBA approves the rare but not unprecedented trade of an active coach, a Boston Celtics official told The Associated Press on Sunday night.

The deal would bring Boston a first-round draft pick in 2015, according to the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because it is pending a trade call with the NBA office. Rivers, who had three years and $21 million left on his contract with the Celtics, must also reach an agreement on a new deal with the Clippers.

Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss said the team had no announcement.

The tentative agreement on Sunday wraps up weeks of haggling over the deal and frees Rivers from presiding over the dismantling of the team that won the franchise's record 17th NBA title in 2008.

The Celtics and Clippers have also discussed sending Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles in a package with Rivers for draft choices, centre DeAndre Jordan and point guard Eric Bledsoe. But NBA commissioner David Stern nixed those talks this week, saying teams aren't allowed to trade active players for a coach.

A deal for Garnett could still happen, but the teams would have to convince the league that it was a separate deal. The 37-year-old big man has a no-trade clause in the contract that will pay him 23.5 million over the next two years, but it is believed he would waive it to be reunited with Rivers on the West Coast. He has also discussed retiring.

Boston could also cut ties with Paul Pierce, the longest-tenured member of the team, who is due to earn $15.3 million next season; he could be bought out for $5 million. Pierce will be 36 by the 2013-14 opener and showed signs of slowing down this season, when he averaged the fewest minutes per game in his career.

Rivers took over the Celtics in 2004 in the midst of the longest title drought in franchise history and -- with thanks to the New Big Three of Garnett, Pierce and Ray Allen -- guided them to the 2008 NBA title. They returned to the NBA Finals two years later, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in seven games.

But the Celtics have regressed steadily since then, twice failing to get past the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference playoffs. This year they finished third in the Atlantic Division -- they had won it five straight times -- and lost to the New York Knicks in the first round.

That convinced many that it was time to rebuild -- a process Rivers was reluctant to supervise. If the Celtics unload Garnett and Pierce, that would leave them with point guard Rajon Rondo as their only established star.

Rivers had the second-longest tenure of any NBA coach to San Antonio's Gregg Popovich, compiling a 416-305 record in Boston that was the third-most wins in franchise history behind Red Auerbach (795) and Tommy Heinsohn (427). He also spent four-plus seasons with the Orlando Magic and is 587-473 in all.

Trades for coaches have occurred about a half-dozen times in NBA history, most recently in 2007 when the Heat received compensation for allowing Stan Van Gundy to go to the Orlando Magic.

In 1983, the Chicago Bulls sent a second-round draft pick to Atlanta as compensation for coach Kevin Loughery. The Hawks used that pick to take Glenn "Doc" Rivers.

I dunno how that helps D-Rose or give the Bulls a chance to dethrone the LeHeat.

Who is a good UFA in this market this year that Chicago could sign if Deng does free up the cap space...?

I have a strong feeling that Howard's going to leave for the Rockets, and the Lakers may be heading to the lottery next year.

If Howard does walk, it won't make sense for the Lakers to do any sort of Sign and Trade since next years free agency market is filled with top players and having the cap space will be a huge advantage.

I could care less about D12 he's trouble he always thinks the grass is greener and he's a crybaby, so if he can't see the value in staying with the Lakers then good riddance. If he does want to go to the Clippers I will take Blake and Bledsoe over waiting till next years FA market but if he wants to go somewhere else then yeah it might be better to wait till next year.

Ever since the Heat won their 2nd there's been reports of Lebron being on pace to be the GOAT it's absolute nonsense because the NBA in its current form is so watered down compared to when Jordan played there's no defense, at least 25-40 percent of the players in the league now wouldn't even have made an NBA roster back then. Jordan's not my favorite player Magic is but I'm just tired of hearing the nonsense.

Numbers don't lie but they don't tell the whole story either.

The NBA is way "softer" these days than it was back in Jordan's years. If you thought LeWade was a whiner and a diver with just a tiny poke, I wonder what he'd do if he ran against the Pistons and that insane D they had with Laimbeer, Thomas, et al...

LeBron is a great player. My snarking aside of him and the Heat, he's a great player. No doubt. Of this generation, probably no doubt. Future HoF, no doubt. Greatest of all-time? Give me a break...

I agree that the NBA is softer than back in the days but nobody can say that Jordan didn't whine about calls either. Whine or not, its the referees that allow it. As for Lebron, if he were at his prime at Jordan's era, i don't think he would have a problem. His size and basketball IQ is still pretty amazing even though he is erratic at time with his passing.

I won't get into the whole GOAT thing because it's pointless IMO. But yeah Jordan did get wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more calls than Lebron. Lebron reminds me of when Shaq played. So physically dominant that they wouldn't call as much on him. Meanwhile a finesse player like Jordan would get a little hand check call. One other thing, Pippen said that Lebron would kill Jordan 1-on-1.

Pippen is just mad he couldn't get the job done without Jordan. No doubt Lebron would still be good in Jordan's era but nowhere near as dominating as he is now because of the way defense was played back then. Jordan would get near murdered sometimes and other times he would get calls. Can you imagine Lebron against the Pistons or Knicks? He complained after losing to the Bulls earlier this season and that was nothing compared to what those 2 teams would have done to him.

Hmm. I think Lebron is on his way to be one of the GOATs - he still needs to beat Jordan's 6 rings though.

Physically (strictly talking about genetic athleticism here) there's no doubt Lebron is unmatched. No one in NBA history even comes close to his combination of size/strength/speed/bball IQ - the guy is the perfect physical specimen for basketball.

Love Jordan, but remember when Dominique and him were 1 and 2? 'Nique was bigger than MJ, as great a scorer as well and had a much better nickname, lol ('Human Highlight Film' vs. 'Air', c'mon).

I see Lebron more as a combo of Nique and Magic. Dominique's athleticism and size and Magic's court awareness, vision*, and size as well. Could very well be the best perimeter player ever.

*I have to say that Magic was much better then Lebron in terms of passing and court awareness. Lebron may have 80-85% of that.

Difference when Lebron left cleveland. He had a shitty owner. Its very family like with the Miami heat organization. Plus he has won 2 championsships in 3 years. I don't see him going anywhere

There is no way in hell Lebron will go anywhere anytime soon. He is loving this as he should.

Comparing Michael an Lebron is impossible. And I don't get how anyone can call anyone a GOAT when there are so many factors to consider. He is one of the greatest though
