seriously though, the bulls are probably the best competition the Lakers have seen this year. I think we've played a mix of Golden State and the Washington Generals thus far. The Lakers are still cruising and the Bulls are on their circus trip.

Alright. Clearly, I'm not watching the same game as dom...
And no, I don't have some sort of homerism here. Rose is a franchise player. Period. It's not like I'm off heaping praise on Noah or Gibson here. They are good players...but, not the same caliber as Rose.

No, I don't think he's a franchise player. at least not to the level of others. IMO there are only about 4 maybe 5 franchise types in the game today. Kobe, LeBron, Howard, Durant and Wade.
Put it this way. IMO, switching out any of those 5 with Rose and Chicago is now a better team.

Rose is not quite at the tier those 5 you have listed yet. But, I believe in time, he can be. His improvement each year has been very noticeable.

'Franchise player' and 'superstar'....like the debate on whether Acura is 'luxury' or not, it all depends on your own definition.
Rose is fun to watch....not sure I would base all my decisions off of a shoot first point guard. At the very best he's a top 5 point guard, considering were talking D-Will, Rondo, CP3, Nash...then Rose.
Not to take anything away from him. He's great.
