Excited to see the OKC Thunder vs. Chicago Jazz tonight. OKC aren't going to sneak up on anyone anymore- Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and all that athleticism is pretty apparent after last year.
I'm more interested in how Chicago puts it together....they have a pretty complete squad with youth. Still, it can take time for a new coach and new teammates to gel.

I agree and also too bad he plays for the same old losing Clippers. He will probably be like many talented players that were drafted by them he will bide his time and move on to a better team.

^^Even though the Suns have had their run-ins with that Lakers earlier this decade, I love watching Steve Nash. Its too bad they haven't kept up the level of their talent since the '7 seconds or less' Suns of the mid 00's.
Magic v Heat will be fun to watch. Supposedly Dwight worked with Hakeem over the summer. The Heat are hopefully over their jitters or whatever's holding them back so we can get a good game.

....Forgot to note how interesting it is to see the in-state rivalry between Orlando and Heat.

I didn't see the game but the Heat smashed the Magic. I know the Heat have some good defensive players but one of the knocks on some of the Magic players is there like Jekyll and Hyde sometimes they play well and other times they disappear.

Great wins by Miami over the weekend. Blew out Jersey and dominated the second half of the Orlando game. I saw most of that game. First of all, Dwight Howard definitely looks great. He reminded me of Ewing and Hakeem out there. Drop steps, banking in corner jumpers, his offense looked great. He had 19 efficient points in the first half. Had Orlando not shot so poorly they would've been in the game. However the Heat's defense was very good. Even getting into a lot of the faces of the Magic 3 point shooters. Howard was in foul trouble in the second half thus the margin growing. Magic uncharacteristcally missed a LOT of 3's so I wouldn't say we're 26 points better than them everytime. A great home opener, statement win against a strong team.

^^def. better than that John Wall kid. Wall is overhyped IMO.
Doom, I'd agree on what you said about the Heat....pretty good statement win for them vs. Orlando. Dwight looks good, but I don't think he's happy with his teammates right now. The Magic only had 5 assists total for that game, on a night when Rajon Rondo had 24 assists himself!

And honestly, after watching some of the Heat action over the last couple of games...we really need to stop referring to LeWade, LeBron, and LeBosh as the Big 3.
LeBosh is more like two-thirds. So, let's call the Miami trio what it is: the Big 2 and Two-Thirds.

For anyone who may have missed it, Shaq as Shaquita for halloween. He would make one seriously ugly woman.

Yeah only on NBA 2K11. Real life not so much. The season's early and the haven't been truly battle tested. I think it will take the Heat at least year or two to get to championship status but not this year PJ want's his 4th (4 three peats) and the Lakers want their 2nd in a decade.

there are no early season 'tests', IMHO. I don't even think the annual Laker vs. rival-of-the-month Christmas extravaganza is a test. I usually wait to see who's hot going into the playoffs, who's doing well after All-Star break, or who does well on extended road trips after the break. It tells you they are primed for the playoffs, or what needs to be fixed.
For the Lakers, usually their annual Grammy road trip to the Eastern Conference is a good gauge, barring major injuries/trades. I think the Spurs have their annual rodeo trip that is used as a similar barometer. Those are pretty long road trips that'll can tell you how the team can play on the road, how much chemistry they have, etc.

But might I suggest Big 2 and a half.

Orlando is a good team but sometimes some of their players just don't show up( Lewis, Carter) and that puts more pressure on Howard to do more then lot of times when that happens he gets into foul trouble and that's exactly what happened in that game. The Heats defense is good but they had some help from the Magic's poor shooting.

Bosh was never brought in to avg 20ppg, he was brought in for more defense and rebounding. plus he stretches the defense with his mid-range shot.
