The Celts were (mostly) hitting on all cylinders last night. Rondo & Garnett must have had some kind of psychic connection... or Antawn Jamison's D just really sucks I guess. And Jesus Shuttlesworth FTW!

at Dumcha

antawn's D really sucks.

amazing how much rondo's grown since the 08 championship. PP is still clearly the leader of the team, and KG may still be that guy that inspires and motivates the team. but on the court, rondo is the general. if only he can learn how to shoot.

I don't think it'd call it "quiet". They are the only team to be undefeated so far. I think when they were the only team to sweep in the first round, it got attention.

and btw, what's with these long-ass gaps between games?

Suns just cleaned up the Spurs in 4.

Nash took Duncan's elbow to the eye and got 6 stitches in the middle of game. He looked like a fighter with one eye swelled shut, but he still played well. That guy is incredible.

Is it true that they were yelling "cancer" at him? If so, that's fucked up. I like how the Jazz fans think they were the ones to lose Fish and have all of this animosity towards him. However, as a Laker fan, I feel like we were the ones that lost him instead . Oh well, Laker or not, I'll always be a Fish fan.

Lakers in 6 against the Suns.

Is that Turtle in the Yanks cap? What's with the pic of the dude in white?

And karma to those yelling "cancer" if true. ESPECIALLY if it's regarding his kid. If true, some people don't deserve the heart that beats in their chest.

So it looks like the Cavs won't get it done again this year.

And they were booing LeBron

Does he leave? IMO he'd be nuts to go to NY and basically start from scratch. Unless CB or DW joins him. Should be one of the more interesting off season's in sports history.

IMHO, LBJ and DW, should stay where they're at. CB can go somewhere else. But, franchise players won't make franchise player money on any other team that's worth playing for. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Unless they take a drastic pay cut and go to a good team, they should stay on their respective teams and get paid.

LBJ's team is only one player away from being great, they're already good, albeit because of him only.

+1.

i'm glad the announcer (i think it was reggie miller) called the fans out for that.

NY should have cap room for another big free agent, rght?

agree that he'd be nuts to start from scratch by himself. but if he wants the $...

i heard on the radio this morning that chicago is his first preference.

disagree.

you're right that cleveland and utah, respectively, can offer the most money. but in the case of lebron, the exposure and endorsements possibilities are endless in a city like nyc or chicago.

at the end of the day, salary is tiny compared to endorsements and the rest.

Unless they take a drastic pay cut and go to a good team, they should stay on their respective teams and get paid.
again, they'll get paid wherever they go. and they'll do what kobe did with an option to opt out if they want to after x amount of years. then they can get more money.

regardless, they'll get paid one way or the other.

LBJ's team is only one player away from being great, they're already good, albeit because of him only.
that's what we said last year and the year before, and they added shaq (which many of us said was a bad move) and jamison (who should be the guy to help him on offense).

i was really hoping for denver to win.

it'd be funny if the #2 pick (darko), #3 pick (carmelo), and #4 pick (wade) from that draft all win rings before LBJ.

Agreed. And Yes NY apparently has enough to offer max money to 2 FA's. And they have no problem going into lux tax territory either.

The only reason LBJ should stay in Cleveland is if he feels they're close. But what kind of affect have the last few years had on that outlook? Or he could really like Cleveland and decide he wants to stay. Otherwise, yes, the big money is NY or Chicago.

As for CB. The Raptors are a mess so whether he stays or goes to say NY without LBL or Wade, he's still on a terrible team. But NY would offer much more $$$ potential. So unless he leaves to play on a better team, or for a bigger market (NY, Chicago, LA) I don't see the point in him going anywhere either.

i think chris bosh (like every other free agent) waits to see what lebron and then, wade, do. then pieces will fall into place.

another question regarding cleveland is the coaching. brown is not a championship caliber coach. does he stick around? will the cavs hire a new coach? does lebron have a say-so even though he may not even stick around?

yea i like JJ's game a lot. he's like a poor man's lebron. dude's huge. like 6'7 240 and plays 3 positions.

wish he'd come to the rockets.

cavs definitely are still in it. everytime i watch boston, i'm just waiting for them to self-implode.

Wade's not going anywhere. It's pretty much the consensus here. We can pay Bosh the max. Miami's market is right under the Big 3. Riley always draws talent. The team was a 5th seed that lost to a very good Celtics team (bye Cleveland?). South Beach, hot women, weather. It makes much more sense unless NY picks up a player like Wade. Only Toronto can pay him more but I don't think he'll stay.

Yup. going to play with D-Wade or LBJ would be a no brainer. So I could really see him going to Miami. But is Miami willing to pay max dollars to both of them? Raptors GM has stated on several occasions that he'll do a sign and trade if Bosh is leaving so Bosh will want/will get max money from someone.

I'm just curious why so many people (including us here in Toronto) think he's leaving.

- Obviously the team is terrible so we can all point to that.

- Otherwise, its a big market, he can make max money + huge endorsements because he has an entire country to himself. Its a solid franchise when it comes to attendance and ownership and the city is pretty damn good.

If its about winning or playing with Wade or Lebron then I get it. But if its because its in Canada then I just don't agree.

What exactly happened to VC's popularity once he left Toronto? How many All-Star games was he voted to? How often was he shown on SportsCentre?

BTW - Bosh pretty much confirmed he's leaving via Twitter last week.

He first posted "Where should I go" and than changes it to "Should I re-sign" because he realized how it sounded. He then removed all Toronto references from his profile.

Classy stuff.

I just hope whomever signs him realizes he's not a franchise player.

i think most people think he'll leave beacuse of the team and desire to go to a winner. obviously, whether or not a team like the knicks can be a winner is dependant on lebron.

i don't get the whole "getting out of canada" deal either. from what i hear, toronto's fanbase and support are exceptional.

as for VC,in all fairness to him, he's less explosive as he's gotten older and knee injuries have taken their toll. he still makes the sportscenter reels here and there. just not as frequently as before.

and he's still made his share of allstar games. but with injuries and younger stars that play his position, of course they're less frequent.

i'll say this though. when he felt like playing in NJ, he was still a monster. his first 2 seasons were like the old days.

(sorry to go off tangent in regards to VC. i like him a lot, but he's the most frustrating athlete i've ever known.)

Look at guys like Magic and Bird that spent their whole careers in big cities and what kind of marketing exposure they had. Compare that to small market stars like Malone or Stockton. NYC definitely offers the lights of Broadway and even more lucrative advertising and marketing deals for LBJ than he could ever achieve in Cleveland.

I miss the old VC when he was playing with T-Mac in Toronto. He actually is putting up some solid numbers for the Magic this postseason.
