hey in 06' it was the lakers that made them miss a lakers/clipper playoff series. The lakers were up 3-1 against the suns and couldn't finish them off to meet up the clips in the 2nd round .

I was never a clippers fan cause I expected them to win. I almost like them more playing mike taylor, jordan, gordon, and thornton. Back in the day w/ miles and richardson, I liked them cause they were exciting to watch, and always the underdog. When they were having success w/ cassell and brand, they were honestly pretty boring.

I like the lakers too as my #2 team, but whenever the clips and lakers meet up, I need to root for the underdog.

I think roy on that dunk was mad cause a couple plays earlier gordon had a big dunk.

Yesterday's game was actually pretty good between the blazers and the clips. Too bad everyone that sees the final score would think it was a blowout.

Haha, ya I remember. I was psyched for that, it would have been a great series. I have no beef with the Clips or Clipper fans at all, I have beef with D.Sterling. he fucks shit up. Fucks over players, coaches, this city (slumlord right?) etc. He even fucked over a HOFer and legend, Elgin Baylor.

I'd love for the clips and lakers to be successful together (with the Lakers ascending to their rightful place of course ) but Sterling will never allow the clippers to be successful at the expense of his ego or short term financial considerations.

IMHO.....

It was the play before actually, Gorden threw down in traffic on Alderage/Oden and it pissed Roy off. It was a very exciting game, despite the final score. Portland just had a very good fourth quarter, which the Clippers looked like they were very much out of gas.

you mean clipper darrell? haha. I remember when mark cuban tried to hire him to cheer at mavericks games. He took the job, but just couldn't do it and had to come back home...

and at the lakers losing to the bobcats....in 2OT.
I like the bobcats now for some reason though. Maybe cause I really defended the trade of Jason Richardson, and really thought they got the better of that deal when it went down.

i guess it's darrell. most of us go by dave. he never shuts the fuck up. no joke. i went to a clipper game once for free, and this guy was the only dude yelling his ass off as the clippers were getting beat. i swear he is due for a stroke soon.

Kobe was livid with Odom for giving that 3 to diaw. I think he's gone after this year.

BTW, Bynum layed out Gerald Wallace (broken rib and collapsed lung). Of course, the 'Cats returned the favor....Ariza is out with a concussion indefinitely.

he regressed into the smush parker mentality of how he can make the steal/stop and be the hero.
but the numbnuts forgot he was guarding a competent 3 point shooter, and will drain it if he is left open.
as long as we don't fuck up this major in the playoffs, i am fine for now. atleast we know that bynum can sometimes be the first option if kobe is out. he took over in 2OT and last half of OT

Bynum injured left knee: January 13, 2008 at Grizzlies
Bynum injured right knee: January 31, 2008 at Grizzlies

Hope he's alright. At least this year they have last years injury as a frame of reference, so there probably won't be as much indecisiveness on what to do.

The Lakers are still good enough to make the finals as configured though. They did so last year without both Bynum and Ariza. Ariza makes a big difference on how they defend on the perimeter.

they said it's really supposed to not be as bad as last year. I think an MRI was scheduled for today, but I haven't heard anything about the results.

Last year they at least had turiaf coming off the bench. I would probably take him over powell or mihm, and I've watched powell play a lot the year before w/ the clips. I just hope it wasn't season ending.

^^MCL tear, 8-12 weeks.

I'm disappointed but not as much as I was last year. We still have the team that made the finals last year, in a rather convincing run through the West (12-3 through 3 rounds).

Pau had to integrate, Trevor was out for the whole season, etc. Should be interesting once again.

Sucks for Lakers fans, good for the rest of us Seriously though the guy was really finally starting to come into his own, but looks like the knee might be a continous problem in his career.

hopefully they're more accurate than last year. I think last year they initially thought he'd be ready by playoffs too.

bynum really was starting to play like an all star again. I think his 42 points against the clips really gave him confidence as he's been on a tear (no pun intended) since then.

^^I hope they're right too, but I still think the Lakers are the best in the west. The biggest question is are they tough enough for the east as presently configured.

I thought his best game was actually the 15/13 that he put up against Tim Duncan.

Scholtew, FYI, the knee that got hurt was the opposite knee from last years injury. The other knee hadn't given him problems this year.

the thing is in the west, the teams who were in playoffs last year have gotten worse i.e dallas phoenix houston utah etc...
only team that has stayed the same is san antonio and only denver and portland have gotten better.
in my eyes, we can make it back to the finals without a lot of problems because portland is still inexperienced and very young and so is denver but they have no inside stop for pau.
if only we can trade for rasheed or bosh....
fuck man i hate this shit
fucking deja vu.

Thank you for the correction, I was told it was the same knee as last year. I feel the laker fan's pain being that Im dealing with a possibly ingery plagued center myself here in Portland, but shit it seems the big guys are so hard to keep healthy becasue they bang so much.

Did anyone see Portland's Huge win over NO tonight? Gives us sole posession of 4th place in the west. I know Paul went out early with a strain, but Roy played like shit and the rest of the team was able to pick it up in the fourth.

^^good stuff by your blazers. I didn't see the game, but now I'm itching to see highlights.

I agree about centers, especially our 2 centers. Its a wonder that guys like Duncan and Shaq stayed relatively injury free.

And I think you'll agree with me: I was looking forward to these 2 guys doing battle at least 4 times a year for the next 10 years. Injuries are going to seriously hamper all the fun.

the problem with shaq and duncan was that they were always part of a half court game. they rarely ran. but for bynum and oden, they have a fast ass team who slashes all the time, creating a big jam in the middle and increasing the chances for an injury of somewhat.

and good job for the blazers last night. their bench is a monster. the only other bench i would give props to besides my Lakers.
and how about kobe's 61? really sent a message that he still is there to pick up the slack if needed.

Love their personnel, I just think the Blazer need a vet or 2. Not that they are deficient talentwise, cuz they aren't. But they need a veteran presence to really put them over the top. I mean, even if it means Sabonis is an assistant coach just to teach Aldridge and Oden a couple of things, I think it would really make them dangerous.

Enjoyed the performance. Pau didn't have a bad night either, 31/14/5 . I feel kinda bad for the knicks. Had Kobe last night, now Lebron and the Celts coming up. I wonder if King Crab will have an answer for that 61....

Is it worth the cost of admission to watch Kobe play?
Thinking of buying tickets to the Lakers/Bobcats game on Mar 31

^^Yes, especially against the bobcats. The cats have won 5 outta the last 6 against the Lakers, so both teams will be amped.

Oh and with MJ in the building as well, maybe Kobe is going to put on a show.

Lebron certainly did have an answer. 52 point triple double.

I think both players are great, but I also think the Knicks are partly to blame. Their coach, Mike 'Antoni, isn't exactly defensive minded.

both performances were great but i think scoring 52 WITH a triple double is a more remarkable feat...not taking anything away from kobe though...

there were a lot of Lakers fans. 1 out of every 4 jersey's was a Kobe jersey. It started out as just the Laker fans b/c the Raptors fans would counter it with boo's but by the end, a lot of people were chanting Kobe, including myself

but hey, he's my favorite player

Understandable. I hate the fact that the Sonics are gone. That city needs a basketball team....named the sonics, with Gary Payton and Shawn Hemp, er, I mean Kemp.....

I think you misunderstood, they were chanting Jo-ey (Graham) for MVP. Not Ko-Be.

What started out kinda promising for the Raptors has turned into an utter nightmare. I only hope we can get a top 3 pick.

LOL, that "Jo-ey" chant did get through on the broadcast here in LA.

I liked Jermaine O'neal's game yesterday (9 blocks!)....if only he could do that on a nightly basis.
