I am a season ticket holder up here in Portland, and man what a game tonight. Roy had a shitty game, but he hit the big 3 with the game on the line from damn near half court. Even without Oden around we will still be a playoff team in the West this year, we just need to learn how to finish, becasue endings like tonight just wont happen every day.

yea that was crazy. I'm not sure i've ever seen that many game winners in the last 2 seconds of the game. I thought broy's first shot w/ 1.9 left or whatever was the game winner.

The rockets are TOUGH but Przybila really gave Yao something to do last night and Astest was exhausted from chasing Rudy around for the whole game. We play Minisota at home on Saturday, so we should be able to get to 3-3, not too bad when most analists said we wouldent win 5 games in the first month without Oden and with our tough road schedule. Also as far as an Oden Update for those of you not in Portland, he will be traveling with the team on our east coast road trip next week and getting limited miunits, we cant expect him to go from 0-starter but we will see what happens.

This sucks for Parker fantasy holders

SAN ANTONIO -- Tony Parker will be out about four weeks with a sprained left ankle, a critical blow to the San Antonio Spurs, who are off to their worst start in 12 years.
An MRI taken Saturday confirmed the injury to the Spurs' star guard, who was hurt during a 99-83 loss to the Miami Heat on Friday -- two nights after scoring a career-high 55 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Parker was driving for a layup when he rolled his ankle.
The 26-year-old Parker was using crutches and wearing a protective boot while watching Sunday's practice. He was second in the league in scoring behind LeBron James at 27.4 points per game.
The Spurs are 1-4 and play at home against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. In 1996, they opened the season 1-5.
Parker will be replaced by either rookie George Hill or 12th-year veteran Jacque Vaughn. Hill took Parker's place against the Heat.
"You'll probably get to see George play a lot," Spurs president R.C. Buford said. "We'll continue to evaluate not only our team, but the NBA market as we go along. Our guys have been encouraged with what George has done to date."
One of the last cuts the Spurs made in the preseason was fourth-year point guard Salim Stoudamire, who has not been signed by another team.
The Spurs are also missing Manu Ginobili, who is expected to be out until December while recovering from ankle surgery. He participated in cutting and shooting drills during Sunday's practice.
"I don't think we can comment on Manu other than to say that he continues to progress as prescribed," Buford said.
Hill has played 35 minutes since being drafted 26th overall out of Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. He played 10 minutes after Parker left Friday, missing three shots from the floor. He finished with one point, an assist and a turnover.
The 33-year-old Vaughn was inactive, though no injury was listed. He dressed but did not play Wednesday at Minnesota. He averaged 10 minutes in the Spurs' first four games this season.

clips get a win before the wiz
I don't blame them for the slow start because of their competition, but w/ sac & GS coming in, they'd better have a better showing against the 'weaker' divisional opponents. They also might have a chance against SA w/o parker and ginobili and their slow start.

Portland Update: Oden will play in the game Wednesday against NO Hornets, he wont start but he has been practicing with the second unit all week, so he will be in to back in Przybila for the rest of the road trip.

That and....
I understand that Peirce is a great player. But how do you let him go off for 22 in the 4th? And how do you allow Garnett to hold Bosh to 9 points? Isn't that what O'Neil is for?
And worst of all how do you blow a 16 point 3rd quarter lead.

Everyone in Portland is sitting on their hands waiting for tip off tomorrow from Miami. Our local sports radio station interviewed Coach McMillan this afternoon and he said, he looked dominating in the practice today, but expect him to play 10-15 tomorrow, but shit he couldn't make it 15 in the first game so we will see. Either way I don't really care, the team is really coming into their own without him.

Throw Paul Pierce into the MVP mix if he keeps this up!

Oh I know that. But they have a foundation with Wade, Beasley, and Chalmers. Plus with the cap space after Marion is gone to get a big time player means we'll be very competitive. Wade, Beasley, and unnamed superstar will be the 3 stars that every NBA team must have to compete while Chalmers will be the defensive stopper at PG (already had 9 steals in one game). Plus some bench players/role players like Haslem, James Jones, and Cook should help the depth.

Purely out of curiosity and becasue you probably get all the Heat games on a local network like I do with the Blazers up in Portland, how has Beasley been this year? Do you see as much potential as people were thinking? I just expected him to be on ESPN every night after the monster he was in college and I haven't seen much national coverage of him since the season has started.

Unfortunately with the 2 kids I haven't been able to watch him play a whole lot live. His defense is a work in progress. He even admits that in college he didn't have to focus on it. The guy is a scorer pure and simple and you can see in his stats that he's transitioning just fine. Naturally Wade gets the bulk of the points and shots. From what I'm reading in the paper, he's doing just fine with your typical rookie growing pains.
Now tell me about Oden. I've seen some highlights from pre-season of him swatting away shots like in college. What's going on with him?

He's really coming along quite nicely, and I think people are starting to fear him allready in the middle. Our anouncers are calling it the Oden effect, when he's in people are reluctant to drive to the hole and they often double team him, leaving someone on the floor wide open.
He had double doubles in the games against NO and Minisota this last week, both games were like 14 points 10-12 rebounds and 4 blocks. All this in limited miuints off the bech. The good news is that you can really tell that nothing injury-wise is bothering him right now, the baby hook shot is coming, and he has skyed to block some shots and his dunks inside are very powerful. The bad news is that he is not in basketball shape at all. He gets gassed really quickly, and doesnt fast break when the smaller lineup is in the game, but shit the kid has only played in like 4 real NBA games. We play the suns on the 22nt, so that will be his first real test against a true big man.

Do you think Wade will stay when his contract is up or are they going to loose him to free agency? I really hope he stays, its tough for a team to loose their heart and soul just becasue they have a few down seasons

I think if he sees some good organizational management that he won't go anywhere. We're off to a good start compared to last year. Now that he's healthy (even though he slightly hurt his ankle again ) his confidence and play are up. This makes everyone around him better so hopefully it helps the young guys improve their game. With this improvement and hope, it should help him stay with us for his first huge contract.

Blazers beat the bulls by 42 tonight at home in the Rose Garden. Oden has his third straight double double, in his homecoming. Really fun game to watch, you could tell they were pissed after the loss last night to Golden State. They also heald Rose to one feild goal and 6 points. Glad I was there to see this one
