I believe I said that with blown save, no?

We'll see what's what in 162 games plus the playoffs & world series.

Today we lost one game (thanks Park) but remain current world champions!

Solid start taking 3 of 4 from the a good Angles team and right into our biggest division rivalry. Must be nice for the Sox to start the season with two straight home series.

Yankees win the home opener. 7-5

It was really cool the standing ovation Matsui got in his Angels uniform.

The bullpen tried to give the game away but were thwarted by the run production.

Why the hell can't we get reliable middle relief?????

WTF does that even mean? 5 runs in relief is not good. Some of our relievers are good, but the majority of them have ups and downs, more downs then ups though.

ok, I didn't say anything about the Mets.

By the way, that wasn't a compliment. The Yankees (and their fans) are more despised than any other sports team.

Really?

I'll take the 27 championships with the angst of those that didn't get to grow up rooting for the best team in sports.

I didn't say anything about the Mets either, I quoted one of their fans.

The Yankees might be despised only because of jealousy. But the fans, I don't think so. Boston and Philly fans are way worse.

Truthfully, I love the Tampa Bay fans. Whenever I go to a game there and they're on a roll (thats the only time TB fans go to the games) there's always a group screaming "go back to NY!" towards all Yankee fans. What they fail to realize is damn near all the Yankee fans at the game are from Tampa.

Ive never seen a game in Philly, nor have gone to Boston for a game (its on my list though).

It's the fans too. And it's nothing to do with jealousy, it's the self entitlement. Look at the above post from e30cabrio. It wreaks of arrogance. The Yankees are clearly the best team in the majors (on paper) and while speaking of a game which they had just won, what does he say? He complains that the Yankees need a better bullpen.

Now I don't mean to single E30 out (even though he deserves it). This is true of many Yankee fans I've met. Which is why I called him the perfect Yankee fan.
