kobe is a great bball player, but again he is no jordan.
kobe is the most equivalent to his airness, saying he loves taking over the game and pressure situations, i mean i've watched so many bulls games Jordan came up with that idea of pressure situations and wanting the ball in his hands when the game is on the line. even when kobe was interviewed by that lady at the end of the game, michael said that keyword "challenges" too. jordan always said the reason why he came back from retirement back in 1995 and 2001 was the challenge, proving critics wrong, and drive to succeed. wish kobe would stop trying to emulate MJ. Tmac doesn't do that, nor has Lebron, just that Lebron wears #23 to pay tribute to Jordan. so, please kobe its annoying that you're trying to be like mike too much. my comments.

Before its all said and done Mike will wish he was more like Kobe (except for that Colorado incident).
MAN! Do the Lakers like to make things hard on themselves. How much into the hole can you go and still crawl out. Down by 6 with fortysomething seconds left to the best defensive team in the league and they pull it out. Damn! On the one had, Larry Brown said it best "we're crushed" but on the other hand the Pistons came this close to sweeping the Lakers in their own crib and still go home for three games with home-court advantage. As for the Lakers, the more they play the more familiar they will be with the Pistons' game and that favors the Lakers. The LA walkover most people predicted is no more. Ladies and Gentlemen we have ourselves a series.

I think the Lakers lose their edge a lot. They think they can just turn it on whenever, and then, they come sooooo close to losing the game and still pull it out. That just contributes to their attitude. I think Detroit now has their full and undivided attention, which is bad for Detroit. I wonder how the Pistons will react to that loss. The last second Fisher shot really deflated San Antonio, just like Horry's shot did it to the Kings a couple of years ago. Game 3 will be very telling.

I predict the lakers with Shaq and Kobe or not will not win another championship. This will be #4, like jlukja said, the've lost their will and motivation to win. Kobe may win one on his own with another team, but I doubt it.
They'll get this one on pure talent alone but they'll never be as hungry.

Kobe's a little spoiled punk... I can't stand the kid anymore. I'll admit, he's talented beyond what almost ANY player has or had, but his heart is lacking and his maturity isn't there yet. He'll hopefully get more of the hunger when he ages a bit...

First thing he does as a pro (significantly anyhow) is get his coach fired for not playing him enough, than misses a game decision shot against Utah and blames the situation on his lack of maturity (nice cop out)...
Marries against his parents wishes, who only wanted him to wait a few years before marrying a woman he met at a rap video shoot... marries her 6 months later.
Oh, the list goes on and on...
No wonder his hometown of Phily hates him... no respect for anything.

i thought kobe was cool when he 1st entered the nba back in 97 with that bald head jordan look. i still recall he was acting so cocky in the 97 slam dunk contest, i think he was dating singer brandy at the time.
