Also with Crosby, he's like me. He always wants to win and be the best and gets frustrated when it doesn't happen. Everyone expects him to be this hockey god, and "Crosby not playing well" is still #2 in league scoring (since last I checked last week) and I mean people go through slumps and maybe he's slowing down, but he's held to a much higher standard than any other player.

I mean if you have a guy putting up a point a game, it's awesome, except if it's Crosby, then it's disappointing, to an extent.

Give it a few more games, Whit just came back, hope the PP starts clicking again. We need to see Sykora out there. Duno wth therrien benches him, but he's our 3rd best goal scorer behind 71/87 and we need him out there 15-18 mins a game.

Not gonna happen.. Optional skate yesterday and Crosby shows up a half hour early to work on his shot.. Slowing down and not working hard isn't in his mentality.. Although this has happened before where Therrien forced him to stay away form the ice for a day or two.

I have plenty of faith in Yeo errr I mean Therrien.. They work the guys hard but also know when to give them a break. Also, are known for extreme measures to make a statement..

Too many soft players on the Pens. Loosing gritty guys like Malone and Armstrong really hurt them.

You forgot Laraque and Ruutu.. But all were replaced respectively.. Laraque for Godard (godard will actually fight and not be soft and let punks get away with shit like Laraque did).. Ruutu for Cooke. Malone for Fedotenko. Not too much of a loss.. Obviously Colby can be replaced with Talbot, Jeffrey or Kennedy.. And, well, Colby just got knocked out with one punch from Fedotenko..

Physically and fighting they are holding their own for sure. It's not like Malkin or Crosby are being manhandled where your statement would be magnified or stand out as a true statement..

The guys they brought in all bring softer players than the people they replaced. Without question. I thought that was obvious.

Its not about Crosby and Malkin being manhandled, its about them not having the the type of players that they previously had which compliment their game. Players who will battle both in the corners and in front of the net. Not to say that the current players don't do it, but the guys they let go did it better.

although beating a team that lost their last 6 out of 7 isn't epic, it was still good to see them win, and not go waste my time for once. Also you could just see the confidence oozing out of them, they skated faster, made crisper passes, just goes to show what a little motivation and hard work can do. Granted they still have tons of areas to improve on, however at least Malkin and Crosby got some offense going, and Sykora made something of the game on the power play. Hope they can keep it up on the road, but they needed a home win really bad, I kept saying they needed a crappy team to beat up on to feel better about themselves. But man do they need to change that whole power play around, hopefully they're getting the idea, it seems like they're moving that in the right direction

Im a Nucks fan and always hated that f'ing clown. Most people used to make fun of me for saying it. But the guy is gutless.

If I walked up to his grandma and punched her square in the face right in front of him, I would bet on him not dropping the gloves.

He should get atleast 3-5 games. No place for biting, especially if its hard enough to tear through a glove and break the skin.

I agree. I was glad that when the Canucks got rid of Cooke and Ruttuu. Call me old school, but the league has too many of these idiots who do not answer the bell after stirring the pot.

Yep, it disgusted me when Cooke wouldn't even fight Hansen until Burrows (I believe) tried to fight him as well. So he chose the less physical Hansen. Gutless, disgusts me they get paid to run around like pussies.

I believe if you play the pest roll, you better drop the gloves when somebody else does. Guys like Ruutu, Cooke etc DO NOT

Speaking of biting...anybody notice during the WJC semi-final, a scramble in front of the net and one of the Canadian players was down on the ice in a pileup and he definitely got bitten by one of the Russians.

Don't know how reliable this is but Mark Madden, local Pittsburgh Sports radio jockey is saying that the Pens have thumbed Pat Quinn as the next coach. He's saying due to things that have gone on behind the scenes it not if just when Therrien gets replaced. Could be that the fat fcuk is just whoring his show also.

Interesting I'll have to listen to it on my way home.. Mark is usually pretty careful when he says things about the Pens.. But like everyone else is wrong often. But Mark does know of the things behind the scenes..

Personally I'd rather have Yeo step up..

Here's a link to a discussion from a Pens forum if anyone wants to read

I also that. I heard there are a couple teams interested in Quinn and the Pens were one of them (can't remember who the other was). I heard it on the Buffalo sports station this morning

I agree Jonesi, he does have a real knowledge of hockey and the Pens. I also thought they would move Yeo up. Madden is claiming that after Days of the New is done playing he is going to diverge what Therrien did "behind the scenes" to get the can. Got it streaming live at work wxdx.com

A couple of NHL notes...

NHL suspends Jarko Rutuu for two games

Who bites people? Ruutu should have got at least 5 games. You don't bite someone.

Maple Leafs acquire Brad May

Listen he screwed your team over, he treated fans loyal to him and the team he lead like shit, he runs his mouth about integrity and such and such about wining a cup is about being there from september and this and that. If he lived by the virtues he preached, 3 things could have happened at the end of his leafs contract 1. He Re-Signs with the leafs 2. He retires 3. Get' traded to another team for some valuable players/pics without the intent to return to the leafs. I don't care where the douche plays he's still a douche good riddance.

I've been immune to the leafs loosing for a long time, while I follow the team and casually root for them, I'm a Wings fan through and through.

I still do not see how he screwed the team over. As far as I know he played his guts out for the Leafs franchise and during his tenure there. From every article I've read, interviews seen since last season's trading deadline was that he was contemplating retirement at the end of last season and wished to finish his career as a Leaf.

1. he wasn't sure he wanted to play again (which is why he took 9 months to make a decision)
2. same as above
3. tied to 1...perhaps there were thoughts in his head that he wanted to retire as a Leaf

Lots of players leave as free agents, leave teams due to retirement etc. and teams are just as quick to slam the door shut on their players.

For example...Vince Carter screwed the Raptors over by playing half assed. I just don't see how Sundin did the same to the Leafs.

He specifically said he didn't want to be a rent-a-player and wanted to be with a team from beginning to end. He's now done the opposite.

Having said that, he doesn't deserve to be booed when he returns. He did give it his all when he was here. Thing is, that 'all' was incredibly overrated. As Canucks fans will soon find out.

Mcabe was booed every time he was on the ice the other night and he did nothing to Leaf fans. In fact he never wanted to leave. Doesn't bode well for Mats.
