On another note..

Staal is a amazing defender, seriously he's unreal with stick work and positioning.. He's probably the best defnder on our team.. He's got offensive and defensive skills..

Obviously Malkin is amazingly gifted..

But who would you rather have on your team.. Staal or Malkin?

He definitely brings a different element to the team.. And from the interviews and everything he seems to like the young kids.. I think he's also fought 3 times now since joining.. More then Laraque..

Forget Smyth, Tachuk, Forsberg etc. That was by far the best draft day pick up in the NHL. It was exactly what the Pens needed.

True, but its in large part to him. I thought he was going to lose the heart race to lecavalier, but i now i think hes back in the running.

Tough one. Probably Staal because hes younger and may have more upside.

Little Long:

Tiebreak System

Previous | Next

If, at the end of the season, two or more players in a Head-to-Head League finish tied in the standings, the following system is used to break the tie:

1. Most total points.
2. Most total wins.
3. Most points in Week 23.
4. Most points in Week 22.
5. Most points in Week 21.
6. Most points in Week 20.
7. Most points in Week 19.
8. Most points in Week 18.
9. Most points in Week 17.
10. Most points in Week 16.
11. Most points in Week 15.
12. Most points in Week 14.
13. Most points in Week 13.
14. Most points in Week 12.
15. Most points in Week 11.
16. Most points in Week 10.
17. Most points in Week 9.
18. Most points in Week 8.
19. Most points in Week 7.
20. Most points in Week 6.
21. Most points in Week 5.
22. Most points in Week 4.
23. Most points in Week 3.
24. Most points in Week 2.
25. Most points in Week 1.
26. Random "coin flip."

In the event that a playoff game ends in a tie, the deadlock is broken using the following system:

1. Most team goals.
2. Most team assists.
3. Lowest team GAA.
4. Highest team SV%.
5. Most team wins.
6. Most team shutouts.
7. Most team powerplay points.
8. Most team game-winning goals.
9. Most team penalty minutes.
10. Most team plus/minus.
11. Random "coin flip."

If a team does not meet the minimum goalie games requirement used in the league, they lose any tiebreakers involving goalie statistics.

I can't believe what a great race this is for the 8th spot in the east. Its pins and needles every night.

And what does the winner of this race get? The privilege of a 4 game sweep at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres.

You know what happened on Friday right?

And I called it. It was 4-1 with 15:xx left and I was driving home from the Raps game with my Dad. He says it over change the station. I say I bet Buffalo wins the game. 2 minutes after I drop him off its 5-4. I'm used to the Leafs blowing big leads.

IMO it would Sabres in 5, but the Leafs won't get there anyway.

In fairness, the sabres did get lucky. They were thoroughly outplayed for most of the game by the leafs.
