BlackHawks Couldn't even manage 50 SOG against the lowly Leaves yet still managed to lose after firing 47. What fail of a team.
After that humiliation, I now expect (and hope) Yumchah pulls a Moog and disappears from Hockey Talk forever.
So, explain to me why you Leave fans are always on Reimer's case? I mean, I'M NO EXPERT ON GOALIES (since I care only about no-names) but the guy stood on his head in the 3rd when the Hawks turned it up a notch. It should've been easily 5-3 Chicago...
Anyhow, the Hawks are having issues scoring goals despite that lineup...not sure what's going on.
I'll leave this thread when the Leaves win the Cup later this year.
See game 7 in Boston and the last 12 games of last season.
Well...I suppose you have zero interest to listen to the lone guy (me) tell you that goals-against is often a component of team play...? I would not pin the 12-game swoon on Reimer nor the Game 7 choke.
Bruins signed coach Claude to a 3 year extension. As NHL coaching jobs go he's held this one for a while, curious if he makes it to the end of his contract.

Hands off the B's Vice President of player development. And fwiw, if you read his speech you'd know why he was saying at that moment. "I may be a pacifist but that Brooks Orpik guy is a complete pussy."

Are you trying to chase me away forever like you did Moog? Is that what you're going for? Cause its working.

Why...yes!
Sick and tired of your fair-weathered bandwagon jumping ways and jumping around cheering for the Ducks, and then the Sharks, and then the Preds, and then the Nordiques...
Well, I'll have you know your Habs will easily beat the Hawks tonight cuz Chicago can't score even if the woman stripped buck-nekkid and pointed at her taco.
You have to give Bridgeport Sound Tigers goaltender David Leggio props for playing hockey from a mathematical perspective.
In a game against the Springfield Falcons, Leggio's opponents sprinted down the ice on a 2-on-0. So Leggio decided his best chance to stop the play was to knock the net off its moorings and deal with a penalty shot.
As you can see at the end of the video, the move actually worked as Leggio stopped the ensuing penalty shot.
According to ctpost.com, Leggio believed he had a greater opportunity to make a save on a breakaway than a 2-on-0.
"I thought there was a better percentage chance of stopping one guy instead of two," he said.
So basically, if you ever needed confirmation that goalies are a different breed, just search for David Leggio.
^^^
It was a smart idea but there are flaws to it as well. In a one on one penalty shot the shooter has more time to plan his move than he would on a fast break. He also has the luxury of knowing that no one is going to catch him from behind. Obviously it worked out for him but I doubt its a move that catches on like Roy's pull the goalie with 5 minutes left strategy.
Upon further inspection, the goalie is an idiot. The 2 on 0 was failed due to a missed pass.
I think the winger was watching the goalie throw the net off its moorings. If
you look closely at the video, by the time the puck is near him the net is
already at the back boards. He just abandoned the pass.
fleury reups 4 years....not sure how i feel about this one.
Moog would tell you. Me? If the Pens can play better team D overall...I think this is fine.
It's not like Fleury hasn't won a Cup before. He has. So, he can work...but, you're also talking to the idiot in here who thinks goaltending is factored by team play. And I know nothing.
