No disagreeing. Just saying you can't blame/condemn the Pens for giving it a shot.

If luck was such a HUGE part, the Sabres could play the Oilers in the Final this year.

It's about the players and the coach.
Mmm...okay. How "great" was Sutter or Coach Q prior to their Cup wins? You could say they were both a few bounces away from being Cupless and how is this argument?

The Canes fell apart because arguably, their glue left the team: Brind'Amour...

I won't pretend to know who the glue on your Kings is...but, if Seabrook left Chicago? Sure, it's Toews' team but watch all that talent become a middling team possibly...

Again, heaps of factors. You can't just point to coach/GM...Pens are a few steps away. So, now with Rutherford, they need a new coach...and they will work in analytics...make some roster changes potentially...new system. And you know what? You may not find it so funny soon.

Look at the Avs.

Honestly, the only "lost" team I see out there are the Oilers.

It's not the Sabres, Leafs, Capitals or Canucks either. Where did their talent get them so far? A new GM and a new coach that's about it. If their talent was such a factor in their success, they wouldn't be getting a new front office.

You really brought up the Avs?!?!?
Now there is a talentless team with a great coach!

SHOT IN THE ARM. Is what I said. I never said they'd win the Cup. Wow, talk about literal? Or do I need to Webster-dictionary everyone of my posts for you?

Ask anyhow how your arguments and broad-stroke statements sound. At least I try to level my point-of-views as clear as possible. You take them and remove the clarifications and just the single statement.

The roster assembled by the GM is what did the Penguins in.
I'm was talking about the Leaves.

And did I say Pens are DONE?

I said, this is a first step. Rutherford, sure. Great. New coach. Sure great. They need to get the players to execute. Make some adjustments with the roster...

See what happens?

At the end of the day (the whole point of this "debate") is that I don't see the point of crucifying the Pens on just these two moves already if we don't know what the final picture is?

What's wrong with that? And please...Why do I, of all people, care about the Pens? I'll laugh and ridicule when it is appropriate...but, I don't see the point right now.

We're just trying to have a civil hockey discussion here. Each of us watches and knows of the sport enough to have a good discussion, no...?

Good point, lets wait until they hire Torts then we'll ridicule them some more.

Again, like the Pens...in all SERIOUSNESS, and not making fun of the Leaves plight...we don't know what Shanny has in store yet? UFA season has not started and off-season trades JUST started (i.e. Boyle going to Isles). So, let's see?

But, if I had to pick a CURRENT situation, I'd say the Pens are ahead of the Leaves so far? But, who knows...? Hindsight 50/50 later after next season or the ones after are over?

And back to the Avs...everyone knows their blueline is middling. And the shots-on-goal against is very high...

So, yeah...Roy definitely did give the team a "SHOT IN THE ARM". Sure, that team is talented...talented up front...

All I saying here is that it takes alot of factors. Tis all.

But, honestly, at least this is more enjoyable than the stupid .gif war between Moog and cabby of the last couple of pages.

When you have Crosby and Malkin you're ahead of quite a few teams.

And rumor is that the Leaves are trading Phaneuf, Kadri and the 8th pick to Florida for the #1 and Jovanovski.

And Ack/Rounder...don't EVER say I'm a Pens "hater". See me picking on your team here? Nope. When I was negrepping on Letang and the Pens' D...it was based on the snapshot of the team then...and what I (and others) saw as the gap to CUP success.

Tis all.

Only teams I'll be unreasonably hateful of are the Pink Things (back when they were in the Norris/Central) and the Blues.

And I'll always love the LeHeat. Always. More than 's reposts or posting in the wrong thread.

So according to Moog, blaming the GM is wrong, getting a new one is wrong, blaming the coach is wrong, getting a new one is wrong, the roster assembled by the GM is wrong, but we're supposed to blame, who?

To get Ekblad or Bennett?

Stranger things have happened but I think Tallon would have to be on glue to make that trade.

Looks like we've scared Moog away. Now quick, lets change the thread title so he can't find his way back. Any idea's? I'm thinking '4G TL Power Plenum Compliment Thread' Fibbo will pop in but Moog would rather kill himself than complement a 4G.

Nice thread title change, but once Cabby starts streaming multiple gifs of the same goal every 30 seconds, I think he'll figure it out

Can you guys imagine if black label and I were this bad during last year's Cup run?

dom or Ack would've e-napalmed this thread and banned you all in a fit of rage.

...cuz, it'd be Finlandian-this-Finladian-that and name-brand-goalie-this-and-no-name-goalie-that for pages and pages.
