You forgot the red text, because I know you are not referring to Clemsux... a team that will lose it's last 4 games including a pounding by NC State.

they both put up "pac-12" type of scores all season long, against teams with quality defenses....

it just so happened that on november 5th, the stars fell perfect for both defenses on the field for a touchdown shutout... and i was in Tuscaloosa, nothing boring about it... great hard nosed football with big plays on both sides... just didnt cross the goal line

I would say the only saving grace was the Oklahoma St. game was one channel over:tomato: I'm not trying to hate, I just don't want to see a rematch between two teams that played during the regular season.

I'm a Yankees fan but I will be the first to admit that this year's MLB playoffs were amongst the most memorable I have watched in years. The games were compelling and intriguing and didn't involve the Bosox, Yanks, or Phillies. Sometimes it's nice to see other teams compete.

ok so they didnt play anybody worth a damn...:tomato:

although i agree, the teams are and have been rotating though the lineup...

LSU, Floirda, Bama, Florida, Auburn.... hell even arkansas a couple times in the last few years could have played for the title and probably won...

its not like we keep sending the same juggernaut to compete against everyone else... the power is being dispersed and shifted.

I think you're getting a rematch no matter what, it will just be which two SEC teams play it.

Maybe this will get the system changed. Hopefully. Until then, I guess the only rebuttal I have is 'win the games.' Alabama lost least poorly, and before everyone else did.

How do you guys feel about a team competing in the NC game that didn't even compete in their own league championship? It's like Alabama gets the better end of the deal, win out and then watch the SEC championship at home resting for the Sugar Bowl.

Rockstar21 11-21-2011 05:17 PM

Should the #2 team in the country be punished for being in the same conference as the #1 team?

and it's no different from teams from the PAC in past years going over teams that lost their conference championships while they sat on 12-0/11-1 etc.

without anyone having an absolute way to tell who is what with so many teams... I truly believe LSU/Alabama are the best 2 teams in the nation.

Dr. Colorado 11-21-2011 05:43 PM

Some of those Ohio St. teams were undeserving of playing for the NC:2cents:

Without a doubt. I did some work I think in Auburn's undefeated year that helped me understand a bit better how the BCS works. I'll work on some numbers tonight or tomorrow that might frame the argument a little bit better.

CocheseUGA 11-21-2011 07:46 PM

There's little doubt that LSU is going to go to the title game regardless, unless it loses both of it's remaining games. They will have played 8 ranked teams, including three top ten teams (four possibly if UGA beats Tech on Saturday). They have quite possibly the best resume in the history of the BCS. Even with a loss to either Arkansas or Georgia, they're in.

The case for Alabama:

Alabama will have played either five or six ranked teams (if they go to Atlanta instead), and only lost to the #1 team by a FG in overtime. Their FBS opponent's record (through today) is 62-48, a .564 WP.

The case for OSU:

OSU will have played three ranked teams, and lost to a 6-4 Iowa State team at home. Their OppRec is 66-42, a .623 WP.

The case for Virginia Tech:

VT has played two ranked teams, losing to two loss Clemson at home by 20. Their OppRec is 58-50, a .537 WP.

The case for Stanford:

They will have played four ranked teams, and lost to a two loss Oregon team by three touchdowns. Their OppRec is 55-68, a .447 WP.

I've gotta say, I think they've gotten it right to this point, with the system we have. I left Arkansas out because there's only like a 12% chance they hop over LSU and Alabama.

But for shits and giggles...

They will have played five ranked teams, losing to Alabama by three touchdowns. Their OppRec is 53-56, a .486 clip.

It's really down to OSU vs Alabama. OSU's opponents have a better record, but they haven't had as many quality wins and their loss was much worse.

Rockstar21 11-21-2011 09:19 PM

I'm just focused on Arkansas.. We win that, we are in no matter what..

I'm not banking On losing to them and staying idle at no. 1..

Again, the phrase is Just Win

1slo23 11-21-2011 09:47 PM

I'm really looking forward to the LSU/uArk game.

hornyleprechaun 11-23-2011 10:05 AM

Urban Meyer to Ohio State.. Supposed to be official on Monday. 7 years @ 40M.

imj0257 11-24-2011 11:02 PM

Great, close UT vs A&M game (other than the shitty play all game of course).

Horrible personal foul call by the ref on the last Texas drive though. Horrible call. Sad to see that an outcome could be because of a blown call by a ref.

oo7spy 11-25-2011 12:05 AM

That was the most disappointing season I have ever watched A&M play. I hope they don't get a bowl game so I don't have to suffer anymore. I also hope Sherman and DeRuyter are on their way out. :whyme:

imj0257 11-25-2011 07:05 AM

:werd: they need to go.

1slo23 11-25-2011 02:50 PM

Early lead for Arkansas

Rockstar21 11-25-2011 05:41 PM

Early that bitchhhhhhh

Professor 11-25-2011 05:45 PM

SOMbitch... give me the remote... I thought the game was on Saturday.

Professor 11-25-2011 05:49 PM

O.K. it's over and I missed the MFer. LSU national champs... save the pizza commercials.

FIFY
2002 - Who else besides Ohio State and Miami belonged in the title game? Georgia....maybe.
2006 - Ohio State most definitely belonged in the title game (sadly they did not show up for it)
2007 - This is only one which I would agree with. That was a horrible loss to Illinois. But, like Alabama this year, they lost early enough to let the pieces fall in place

cmschmie 11-26-2011 02:37 PM

Well Michigan beating Ohio State was bound to happen sooner or later. Rather it be during a bad season like this one....next up, Urban Meyer announced as HC.

Rockstar21 11-26-2011 04:21 PM

Bama playing like they want that rematch...

imj0257 11-26-2011 04:25 PM

And sad thing is they will get it. YES, LSU and Bama are the two best teams and deserve to play in the national championship, but like I said before, I just don't want to see them play each other again.

Professor 11-26-2011 04:27 PM

I'd give points and take LSU or Bama against 75% of pro teams.

Professor 11-26-2011 09:36 PM

FU Klempson U %*((&%^$$%$^%^*&((*&#$%))(*&##$. The A-She-She is sh!t.

JS + XES 11-26-2011 09:41 PM

is there any live streaming website where we can watch the games?

JS + XES 11-26-2011 11:44 PM

USC 50:0 UCLA

still about 14 minutes to go.. can't believe UCLA is going to play in the pac 12 championship game. shame on our conference.

Lol I'd take that bet everyday.. NFL teams would dominate both LSU & bama.. not even close.

Rockstar21 11-27-2011 08:14 AM

Idk... The colts are pretty bad haha

It doesn't matter how bad they are in the NFL they would destroy a college football team.

madcaps 11-27-2011 01:24 PM

:haha: @ UCLA.

I have a friend who is a huge UCLA fan, I can't wait to talk shit tomorrow when I see him.-

^ I'm sorry, but Indy sucks. I believe LSU or Bama could at least make a contest of it.

 Stupid comment thinking the best college football team could compete against the worst NFL team. Wayne, Clark, Collie or even Garcon will make any LSU or Bama DB look like a clown. Addai will light it up against his alma mater.

It's like comparing Varsity against Intermediate, not even close.

i'd watch it.

maybe i should write a few letters to tom benson to play a charity exhibition in tiger stadium on the offseason :ponder:

Professor 11-28-2011 05:05 PM

Fucking Meyer... I would never leave a premier SEC team for Ohio State. I'm waiting for some former Florida players to come forward with sexual abuse allegations.

A charity game for wounded warriors would be a great idea. Make the pro team play to college rules... most of them have at least seen a college.

But the really is the Marcus Lattimore scenario. A college player with a big payday ahead in the NFL wouldn't risk the injury.
