This guy is filing a bogus law suit against McNamee because once he found out congress wanted his fat ass to testify, now when he does go before congress he can refuse to answer question because he is involved with litigations on this matter.

I have got to say that I believe him. And what he said last night is true. It came out in that report and now no matter what he says everyone is going to think he did it. This guy was a great pitcher even before steroids were even in the picture. His pitching style has evolved over the years from power pitcher to finesse/spot pitcher. Greg Maddux (who will be 42 when the 2008 season starts) did the same thing over his career and no one gives him flack. I will say what does his trainer have to benefit from lying? That is unless this is a witch hunt.

Clemens was lying his face off. Players who aren't on roids don't flex their muscles and throw shattered pieces of a broken bat at a players just because the broken bat pieces came in his direction. Normal human beings not on steriods don't throw three hitters with a torn ligament and hurt elbow.
F that, normal players not on roids don't throw 99mph splitters. Anyone watch the 2000 World Series? Clemens came out and was throwing pitches like that. i'll never forget when Lenny Harris came up to bat, Clemes threw him a splitter that hit 98 or 99, Harris just dropped the bat and started laughing.
The best question of the interview:
"jail time for what?" when Clemens said McNamee called out Clemes because he was trying to avoid jail time.

I'd love to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. But it's impossible to look past the facts.
A good read, FWIW...

Maybe I just hope it's not true. If not I would have to say that this entire generation is tainted and the majority of my baseball memories will effectively mean nothing. I know that you all will say that it is already tainted but I wanted to believe the pitching isn't. If Pettitte actually only took 2 shots that is not the end of the world. I am one of those people who believes that steroids, HGH, ect. will only help with power and that it still takes great hand-eye coordination to hit a 95 mph fastball. I don't think that muscle/power helps in pitching, it’s about placing the pitches and none of that stuff can help you there. There is some form to it. It’s like golf to me. Any idiot can go out there and swing the club has fast a Tiger but you have to square the club face at impact or you’re screwed. Same with hitting and pitching.

Borrowed from ESPN:
bluburt :I have it on good authority that this was edited out of the 60 Minutes interview with Mike Wallace:
MW: Don't you think you owe it to your fans to tell the truth?
RC: You want answers?
MW: I think we're entitled to them?
RC: You Want Answers?
MW: I want the truth!
RC: The Truth! You can't handle the Truth!
We live in a world that has Superstar Athletes. And those Superstars have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? Ed Bradley? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom.
You weep for Aaron and you curse MLB. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Cy Youngs records, while impressive, probably were padded. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, wins games...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on those 'roids. You need me on those 'roids.
We use words like ERA, WHIP, Cy Youngs...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent doing something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of victories that I provide, then question the manner in which I provide them!
I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a bat and stand in the box. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!
