You mean the plastic ring at the base of the spring where it meets the lower perch? That gets damaged sometimes when you adjust the height, it is not really from rubbing.

I can get one of those rings for you.

Cool HeelToes new links!!

Hey Marcus

I have looked at part of the upgrades to your site and was impressed with the ease of using the new site, but just now was using the Tein link and wanted to comment.
First - the links from your direct page on the threads area are much improved and full of info.
Click on Install or whatever you need, and bingo there is your answer.

How great to have real life pics of the items and description of types of shocks and the intended use of each level.

And you can even do pre set-ups and really know about making Acuras handle!
Sweet, saves a lot of time if one can just send you a pic of their car and say this is what I want it to look like, and you set the shocks up and mail them.

Now I MUST HAVE the CS with the in car adjustment controller, way tooooo cool!
And lets me switch from wife driving mode to track days mode in an instant.

Thanks for the content upgrade of the site, I feel that being an informed consumer makes me a better customer.

Anyone needs the right parts or the right info
Call Marcus at Mr Heel Toe

tidus

If you have ANY friends here, or someone in the States reads this and steps up,
the shipping to Canada PLUS the import/customs/whatever fees can really whack you bad.

So if its at all possible to have them sent to a friend in the States, then you go for a weekend visit- that would be good

If you click on the Tein link on HeelToe post it takes you to all the options and assemblies.

For fastest reply and service call Marcus at 1-949-295-1668 in California
or email him at marcus@heeltoeauto.com

Hi Marcus,

You posted that the tein flex for the cl9 could be custom fit to the '04tl, what does this entail?

You need to get a couple washers in the back and you need to press out the front strut brace mounting studs from the flex upper pillow mounts.

You need upper spring seat adapters to do so...what would you do that though? Does not make sense.

The reason I ask is because I have an Acura Legend and wanted a quality coilover system for it. As a trial, I bought TSX tein basic coilovers and installed those on my car. Since they used the oem top mounts, I just adapted the ones from my car to the kit. It has been on my car for over a year with no ill effects, in fact, I am running them now.

I wanted to upgrade to the flexes but do not know if they can be used with the oem top mounts (the rears of the legend top mounts have three holes instead of the tsx's two).

the only other option is to import a set of buddy clubs made for my car but the price will probably be 1500+, which is too much for me to spend.

Ah, I see....

The problem is the springs have a small top diameter (similar to the front springs with your Basic kit). If you had another pair of spring seat adtaperters (the gold ones), you could possibly use with the FLEX.

The problem is the shock shafts on the flex are SHORTER than the ones on the Basics, so there may not be enough threads left on the shaft to get the nut on. They do this because the Tein pillows are thinner than the oem hats.

Maybe you can adapt the tein pillows to work on your chassis....perhaps removing the mounting studs for the strut brace is all you need to do.

OR BETTER YET, why not send in your basics for revalving and new springs? Should cost about $125 per shock and $5 per spring. Figure $700 or so. Non adjustable, but at least to can get them where you want and you know they'll fit.
