Ok I have a question, I think I've researched this stuff so much over the past week I've confused myself. A little back story...I bought my 2008 TL Type S off lease. I think I might have the aspec kit already? What is the easiest way to tell? My front fogs have the chrome strip beside them, my rear bumper has the mesh between exhausts...I have side skirts...

Am I correct in assuming I might have it...or am I completely wrong?
In this thread (https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/type-s-side-skirts-vs-aspec-side-skirts-764377/) My car looks like the one on the bottom, I would like it to resemble the one on the top....by ordering this I can achieve that?

i got those in a seperate box and package. maybe yours was delayed i dunno. i got my templates and covers first at about 12 and got my big kit box at about 3.


Apart from Ack setting up this GB id also like to thank the participating members who bought and paid. All of this would not have happened because of you guys so thank you all.

ah he don't need them he has his stuff installed already. I found the templates and the black covers are not really needed. The templates might help if you are unsure. But i just dry fitted mine then centered punched no templates used at all.

it seems to me that honda needs to invest in some stronger material boxes or something. It seems a lot of people including myself where there package was beat to hell. I literally thought someone at FedEx had taken a peak at it and almost went up there in rage lol but i figured hey i got it all, parts are intact no reason to bitch.

LOL i actually worked for fedex and we normally called a crushed package stress tested..... the problem with this particular package its very large and weighs less than 70 pounds so 2 people are not required. its not full of any kind of packing material so crushing is guaranteed. honeslty im suprised mine looked as good as it did. it was crushed in one corner and had 2 holes in it. one hole was maybe 6-8 inches wide.
fedex and ups are known for poor handling oddly enough the usps has the best record.

Kit came in today.. box wasn't that bad actually, two holes and some banged up corners, will inspect the pieces soon but everything seems good.. Thanks Ack for putting this GB together!

Mine are usually beat up as well, but none were damaged so far. USPS for me has the worst record of lost packages though...It also depends on how its packaged. I OCD the crap out of my packages, but nothing yet to be broken. I just got a headlight from some guy in CALI and he literally put the headlight in a box and shipped it. Lets say this was ONCE called a headlight and now called pieces.

Not sure if anyone has done the math but I was curious so:

39 kits X $715per = $28,600. Enough kits were sold to buy a TL or two.

In the history of all the forums I've been on this is easily the most successful group buy I've witnessed (first one I've particiapted in). Maybe it was just excellent timing with tax return season.

i got the same expected delivery date from fedex as well. although one thing that seemed striking was the 15lb weight. is the package actually that light or is this some type of prototype carbon fiber a-spec?

Last question I ask... For those that bought and received WDP how does the color match up with either of the tones on the car/bumper? In other words does it look like an added on 3rd color piece, any pics of the rear color setup?

Snake, the 15lb weight is most likely due to the bulky packaging. I didn't get mine through the group buy, so I can't say how Ack shipped the kits, but when I got mine the rear lip was in a huge box and so were the sides.


My rear lip matches the body of my TL perfectly, but the rear bumper is still off.But what's new with WDP. So, to answer your question, no it did not add a third shade to my TL.

I got my kit installed today all went well. It was very easy to do. I did add some extra 3m tape in spots that I thought might need it. The fit was pretty good and the instructions were straight forward. The back lip by far to the longest and needed the most attn.
