Heeltoe Automotive!

Brake rotors warped? Steering wheel shimmys? Tired of resurfacing rotors
before you pads are half-worn? WE HAVE THE SOLUTION!!!

Racingbrake UP rotors are designed IN HOUSE by Racingbrake here in the

superior strength and heat capacity (prevent cracking and
warping)
and they have been heat treated to dramatically
increase hardness (wear resistance)
. Also, all Racingbrake UP
rotors have curved inner vanes which pump air at a high
rate
, offering superior cooling. These OEM replacement rotors
also feature a highly durable black EDP coating on all surfaces,
including inside the rotor, the outer ring, and inside the slots and

What is the size difference between the TL 6mt and the 5at rotor? Is there any time frame on when there will be a front rotor released for the 6mt? This is something I think a lot of the TL 6mt guys would like to see, as this would add a sportier look to the car. Thank you, Jason

I am impressed with the looks and the price.....if the performance is great as well, it looks like a terrific package. Alas, I have to wait for the MT package to come out however.

Somone just PMed me a good question:

Well, the 1 piece is like the rotors you have now, cast in iron. The hub and friction surface all all once piece. The rotor itself is all one piece.

A 2-piece rotor is made of 2 parts. The friction disc around the outside, which is cast iron, and the 'hat' that bolts to your hub, which is usually made of aluminum. The two piece are bolted togther, as you can see in the pics. The Friction disc is replacable without needing to replace the hat, and replacement discs cost a little more than a regular 1-piece rotor.

Typically, the 2 piece rotors are lighter. Also, since the hats are aluminum, heat that is transferred to them from the friction disc is dissipated very very quickly, reducing heat buildup of your braking components. Also, but separating the friction disc from the hat, they are able to make a better deisgn for cooling. Air is more readily passed through the vanes again increasing cooling.

The cost of a 2-piece design is hard to justify on a street car. Strictly speaking about performance, it is not worth it. You will not likely enter into the performance catergory these are designed for. BUT, if you are looking for a MUCH higher bling factor, and don't want to pony up $1200+ for a big brake kit, these are the way to go. These rotors allow you to use your stock calipers, stock replacement pads in any compound, and stock wheel sizes.

Daily driver that drives sporty or hates replacing brakes all the time : 1-piece UP, HPS or Ceramic pads

Daily driver that hits up track days and auto-x (or wants to look like they do ): 2-piece UP with HPS/Ceramic, HP+ on race days.

Racecar : Big Brake kit, race compound pads. Not recommended for the street.

NOW, what makes RACINGBRAKE's 2 piece rotors da sheit is the way they bolt together. Check it out:

See how the rotor ring tabs alternate from the outer surface to the inner one? That means that the heat dissipated from the front face of the disc is cooled at the same rate as the heat from the back face. All the other 2-piece rotors we have seen bolt the hat to either the front or back face, neglecting the other one. These are clearly superior in design! This in addition to curved vanes and the same wear resistant heat-treated formula makes these the best 2-piece rotors your money can buy.

It might give it to you, but really I am going to need $20 extra for Canadian shipping.

Ceramics are really not all that much better persay, just different. The work better at higher temps. Honestly, eveyone here should be pretty happy with the HPS, an the HP+ for track days. HPS are great, even for spirited driving.

They are the same size. They are both used with stock calipers and caliper brackets. If they were bigger, you would need new brackets too.

We still have about 20 left.

Yeah, I guess if you are going to drive I can put them in...although I am not sure that a 5-8 hour drive each way is really worth maybe $150-200 in labor....

Haha, well, I have a friend I visit a few times a year in OC. So it's one of those "might as well" kind of things. I'd trust you with the install over anyone else local anyhow.

Time for a dumb question

So is there a performance gain seen with these rotors vs stock rotors?

Or is it simply durability and styling?

My wife's '06 TL (AT) will soon receive 18" or 19" wheels and I have pondered a brake upgrade since everything behind there will be so much more visible.

Just windering if there are benefits other than styling...

Thanks.

Yes, these rotors and pads brake much more confiendtly than stock. The rotors themselves cool very well, reducing face. Also, the rotors keep the pad surface fresh so bite is much better too.

The durability is not something to be taken lightly. I feel this is the #1 reason to upgrade rotors. Let's face it, the stock brakes do stop the car, but these do it without all the headaches that stock brakes give you. These will wear slower, not warp, need less cutting over time, and stop the car better.

So you will have the stock back after 9/20 for TSX rotors, right? Will it be the same deal? I want 1 set of front & rear rotors/pads package + 1 set of front & rear rotors to ship to Toronto.
